WILLIE NELSON ON QVC
QVC has Willie Nelson on the mind. To celebrate the release of his upcoming album Band of Brothers, Willie Nelson is scheduled to make a special appearance on QVC during the “Willie Nelson Q Sessions Live” broadcast on Thursday, June 12 at 8 PM (ET).
During the live audience show, Nelson is scheduled to play a selection of songs from his new CD as well as a few fan favorites. Viewers will also have the opportunity to order the album, which has been bundled with bonus disc just for QVC, before street date.
Band of Brothers, the highly anticipated successor to To All The Girls…, released in October 2013, is Nelson’s first album in nearly two decades to feature predominantly new, original music. ARTISTS SING AGAINST CHILD LABOUR
Producer/composer/guitarist Mike Einziger, Pharrell Williams, composer Hans Zimmer and Blink-182’s Travis Barker are among the Academy Award, Golden Globe and Grammy award winners who have come together to record a song in support of the International Labour Organization’s “Red Card to Child Labour” campaign. Also performing on the song is Minh Dang, a survivor of child trafficking, and newcomer Liz.
The song, “Til Everyone Can See,” and the music video will launch on June 12, World Day Against Child Labour. It was written by Einziger (founder/guitarist/songwriter for the groundbreaking band Incubus) and internationally acclaimed violinist, Ann Marie Simpson. The idea for a song came to both musicians after they met with the ILO and learned about the millions of children in child labour. When Hans Zimmer heard the demo of the song, he decided to support their efforts and also enlist Pharrell and other musicians. Einziger, Simpson, Zimmer and Williams most recently worked together on the soundtrack for The Amazing Spiderman 2.

WIRE: RUFF RYDERS RETURN WITH LIL WAAH
Lil Waah got the rapping bug at an early age and virtually grew up in Powerhouse Studio with his Dad, surrounded by the music of DMX, Jadakiss, Eve–and like so many other children, he was influenced by the music and artistry of Michael Jackson. Spending all that time in the studio with his father and uncle, Waah had the opportunity to also learn how to produce and write music from his cousin Swizz Beatz. In 2010 at the age of seven, Waah wrote his first song and won the New York State WOW contest. That same year he performed and wowed the crowd at Harlem’s Juneteenth Celebration. In 2012, Lil Waah was also featured on BET’s “The Cipher” alongside DMX and DJ Premier. In 2013, Waah released a series of viral videos that garnished massive views including “Jump” and “Showtime” featuring Swizz Beatz. BUZZ CASON TO BE HONORED IN COUNTRY MUSIC HALL OF FAME
Nashville rock and soul pioneer Buzz Cason will share stories and songs as the next subject of the acclaimed Poets and Prophets series at the Country Music Hall of Fame® and Museum on Saturday, July 5, at 1:30 p.m. The in-depth interview and performance dovetails perfectly with the 10th anniversary of the museum’s Grammy-winning two-disc compilation Night Train to Nashville: Music City Rhythm and Blues, 1945-1970, a set cataloging Nashville’s rich and too frequently overlooked R&B scene, and the exhibit it accompanied. Robert Knight’s iconic “Everlasting Love,” which Cason co-wrote and co-produced, is the album’s luminous closer. More Night Train-related events will be announced later this month.
Hosted by Museum Editor Michael Gray, the 90-minute program will include recordings, photos and film clips from the museum’s Frist Library and Archive. Held in the museum’s Ford Theater, Poets and Prophets is included with museum admission and is free to museum members, although seating is limited and passes are required for admittance.
