Matthew Patrick is a Maryland based rocker with a countrified edge. His latest release, Yard Sale, speaks to the blue colored worker trying to make it as an indie artist. It is a lot of work hitting the workforce and reaching fans all at the same time. Take it from someone who has successfully found a balance and makes it work.
Patrick, has strong vocals and displays them in the opening cover tune, Midnight Special. He gives a stunning a cappella performance then rocks your socks off. But it does not stop there, he gets funky and grooves you in, One Ride. Then, Howl at the Moon starts a new flavor of his bluesy moods. At the moment you think you figured him out he throws in a swaying reggae tune that makes you want to bury your feet in the sand on some deserted island.
This EP is catered to all you A.D.D. listeners that get bored with the samo samo. He crosses genres so swiftly you did not even realize, until it is done. From rock to blues a splash of country and reggae to successfully get you in the party mode. This CD is fun, no other word best describes it; FUN from beginning to end.
Matthew Patrick takes enjoyment to a whole new level with his latest release, Yard Sale. It is a great production, meaningful lyrics and top notch talent wrapped in a very cool package. Looking for some light hearted entertainment sure to fire you up, then look no further.
I rate this 5 out 5
