Missouri-born, Los Angeles-bred storyteller, Little Lonely (www.littlelonely.com), aka Julie Cain, announced today that her eponymous folk-Americana full-length debut will be available on June 25, 2013 on CD and via digital download. A record release show and tour dates will be announced shortly.
Produced by multi-instrumentalist, Sean Hoffman (American Music Club, Loch&Key, Linda Perhacs) Little Lonely combines the plaintive wail of Maria McKee, Julee Cruise and Hope Sandoval with the soft hush of a loping steel string horizon, echo-drenched guitars and girl group swagger. She describes her inspiration as “…a train ride time machine with brief encounters with Cole Porter, Peggy Lee, Kris Kristofferson, Patti Smith and Nick Cave.” It’s a strange, surreal take on UFOs, the Foxy Lady Tavern, tweakers, zombies and mini-bars — and that’s just on the loping track “Buttonwillow”.
