Los Angeles-based pop singer/songwriter Ben Caron has been working on his debut album for a solid year. The project, which will be released on Tuesday, June 4, 2013, was recorded as a series of three fan-funded EPs, each one consisting of three original songs. Donations were collected via his own personal website, without the assistance of sites such as Kickstarter or IndieGoGo, and the proceeds covered all of the expenses — production costs, remastering, pressing physical copies — of Ben’s eleven-track album.
“My fans have continuously surprised me throughout this project,” shares Caron. “I came to them for donations for the first EP, then the second, then the third, and then to remaster the tracks and put them together as an album and at any time their support could have waned, but it never did. They overwhelmed me with their generosity.”
