Born in Tehran, Rumi was raised in Vancouver and now splits his time between Vancouver and New York City where he recorded his first record, catching the ears of record executives at EMI Music. After signing with EMI, Rumi’s debut became a successful international release, making the “Top Ten” Virgin Mega Store charts at its first week of release and the first 2 singles topped radio and TV charts for 6 consecutive weeks.

In addition, Rumi is an alumni of the Vancouver Film School and the New York Film Academy and currently runs a Film Production company called “Clairvoyant Pictures” in Vancouver and New York which focuses on the production of independent feature films and script development.
