WIRE: THE COUP PREMIERE AMBITIOUS NEW VIDEO AT WIRED.COM

Wired.com is premiering a brand new music video from incendiary band The Coup today, October 12th. The clip is for the group’s fuzzed out call for class equality entitled “The Guillotine” from their new record Sorry To Bother You out this October 30th on Anti-.

The clip was directed by Beau Patrick Coulon and offers a politically charged tip of the hat to the classic seventies “super soul musical” The Wiz set now set on the streets of The Coup’s native Oakland. “It’s a combination of three storylines, “The Wiz”, the novel “Wicked”, and the French Revolution. Somehow they all fit perfectly,” explains the band’s singer-activist Boots Riley.
