NEW ALBUM BY JASON KARABAN IN SEPTEMBER

Los Angeles based singer-songwriter Jason Karaban is set to release his forthcoming album, Shift, September 4th on Ascend Records.   Karaban’s forthcoming record will include a host of guest spots from many of LA’s finest, including; Lucy Schwartz, Garrison Starr, Sara Watkins (Nickel Creek), Glen Phillips (Toad the Wet Sprocket) and Dave Immerglück and Charlie Gillingham of Counting Crows.

Karaban, a Philadelphia native who planted his roots in Los Angeles, is anything but the stereotypical LA artist.   The singer-songwriter isn’t flashy and is actually notoriously reclusive, though still manages to attract a cast of notable artists to lend their talents to his recordings.     Over the years, Karaban has worked with the likes of Ani DiFranco, Dave Pirner (Soul Asylum), C.C. Adcock, Ivan Neville (Keith Richards, Neville Brothers), David Immerglück and Charlie Gillingham (Counting Crows), Pete Thomas and Davey Farragher (Elvis Costello’s Imposters), Priscilla Ahn and many more.   Jason not only brings his song writing prowess to the table, as noted by Glen Phillips of Toad the Wet Sproket when he said, “Jason is a great writer and brilliant at creating an immersive, evocative mood” but also brings genuine friendship as best described by Garrison Starr who stated, “Jason is one of my favorite people and working with him is not only fun but pretty effortless…plus he makes me wanna be a better person.”
