Following the recent sold out Allman Brothers Band concerts at the Beacon Theatre in New York City and last week’s Wanee Festival in Florida, rock music legend Gregg Allman will undergo diagnostic cardiac testing stemming from his hernia operation. The procedure, scheduled for April 27th at Mayo Clinic’s campus in Jacksonville, Fla., (where the singer previously received a liver transplant in June 2010) will determine what, if any, additional medical attention may be required. Given these circumstances, William Morrow, Allman’s book publisher, today announced a temporary delay of the publicity tour to promote his forthcoming memoir, MY CROSS TO BEAR (on sale nationwide, Tuesday May 1st).
“I’ve been working on the book for years and am grateful for all the support I’ve received in putting it together,” says Allman. “As soon as doctors give me the thumbs up to go back on the road, I will be heading out onto my book tour and I can’t wait to meet all of my fans.”
