When Dappled Cities were living in New York on the back of their 2010 album “Zounds” the Australian band were firmly ensconced under the wings of Dangerbird Records, having already worked with the label on 2008’s acclaimed ‘Granddance’ release. It was a rock & roll dream. Co-habiting an apartment downtown and living off a $10 per day diet of ramen and coffee.
“RUN WITH THE WIND”:
Both releases scored the art-rock band from Sydney a healthy 7.8 on Pitchfork who threw superlatives such as ‘ambitious widescreen music’ and ‘Swelling, shimmering, complex and bordering on greatness” at reviews of their music.
