Warner Bros. Records is pleased to announce that it will release Settle Down — the debut U.S. EP from 21-year-old international newcomer Kimbra — on October 18th, 2011. You can purchase the EP beginning October 18th.
[youtube 5XjNlpe7hII nolink]The four-song EP includes Kimbra’s Australian singles “Settle Down,” a rhythmic collage of handclaps, cheeky horn parping, and a ballooning bassline married to an escapist lyric about domesticity, and a remix of “Cameo Lover,” which finds Kimbra exploring a soulful, Motown-influenced sound delivered in a fresh way with the help of Aussie hip-hop producer M-Phazes (Pharoahe Monch, Talib Kweli). Both tracks appear on the New Zealand-born singer and songwriter’s album Vows (which was released in August in New Zealand and Australia, where it was certified gold) along with “Limbo,” and a live cover of Nina Simone’s “Plain Gold Ring.”
