Whiskey Avengers announce the release of “Uncle Sam”, the first single and video, off of their forthcoming studio album, Dead Man Rockin’ (due October 25th on Roof Rock Records).
The song, produced by Michael S. Rosen (Rancid, AFI, Santana), reveals a band that has jelled and grown since first playing together in their teens. The lyrics of the song mark a new maturity for Whiskey Avengers. “Uncle Sam” portrays an insufferable uncle living alone, hoarding his wealth and choosing to exclude his kin from his life. It is a politically suggestive song, with a message meant to be highly indicative of the state of our nation today. While the message is political, the song is built upon the hallmark rock-steady/reggae sound of Whiskey Avengers.
