LANA DEL REY CONFIRMS DEBUT SINGLE “VIDEO GAMES” VIDEO

With a vibe somewhere between early 60s Hollywood and a hip-hop torch singer from the future, Lana Del Rey’s self-made videos have already caused a major stir. Just as her D.I.Y video for “Video Games” hit 500,000 views on YouTube, it was promptly banned. Lana Del Rey’s debut single “Video Games” – which got “Best New Music” on Pitchfork and has also been championed by Gorilla vs. Bear, The Guardian UK and NME – will be released with b-side “Blue Jeans” by Stranger Records October 9 via all major digital retailers, and October 10 on limited edition 7″ vinyl picture disc.

Lana’s songs are born of her obsessions: David Lynch, black & white movies, Coney Island, hip-hop and heartbreak. “There’s something beautiful about the fight. About any fight” explains Lana. “I’m talking about epic, knocked-down, dragged-out love stories in song. That’s what I’m heading towards.”
