ADELE BACK ON TOP OF BILLBOARD ALBUM CHART

Adele is back on top of the Billboard 200 chart.   The singer’s hit album 21 has returned to the number one position after a week at number two, selling another 76-thousand copies, which puts her domestic total at just over 2.9-million.   Seems like she should hit triple-platinum in the next week or so.

ADELE KICKS OFF RESCHEDULED TOUR

Adele kicked off her rescheduled North American tour on Tuesday night in Vancouver, Canada.   The show took place close to three months after the “Someone Like You” singer had to cancel her tour due to serious problems with her voice, which at the time were thought to be potentially career-threatening.   At the gig, she dedicated her song “Hometown Glory” to her native London which has been besieged by rioters, saying that the British capital is “under attack by a bunch of idiots.”   She also paid tribute to fallen friend Amy Winehouse, dedicating her cover of Bob Dylan’s “Make You Feel My Love” to Amy.   Read more at ContactMusic.com.

GAGA’S FAVORITE SONG IS “BAD ROMANCE”

Lady Gaga has had a bevy of hits, but it seems that she thinks “Bad Romance” is her best song.   The singer told PopDust.com that the tune “has a special place in her heart” because of what it meant to her fans when it came out.   She also added that she puts “You and I” at number two, and “Poker Face” at three, but that she tends to have “very different feelings about different songs at different times.”

CHRIS BROWN ANNOUNCES F.A.M.E TOUR DATES

Chris Brown has revealed the dates for his upcoming F.A.M.E. North American tour. The “Look At Me Now” singer will hit the road with supporting acts T-Pain, Kelly Rowland and Tyga when the trek begins on September 12th in Toronto, Canada.   It runs through October 30th, when it wraps in Hartford, Connecticut. The crooner said in a statement, “This tour will allow me to paint a picture musically. I want to bring a lot of energy and excitement to all the fans. JAY-Z, KANYE TO PREMIERE “OTIS” VIDEO

Jay-Z and Kanye West are scheduled to premiere the video for “Otis” today (8/11), just one day before fans can purchase the physical copy of their joint album, Watch The Throne. The clip for the tune, which samples “Try a Little Tenderness” by Otis Redding, will air exclusively at 8:56 PM Eastern on MTV, MTV2, mtvU, BET and Centric. Immediately following the premiere, the music video will air on MTV Jams and MTV Hits.

BEYONCE CONCERT SELLS OUT IN SECONDS!

According to her official Facebook page, Beyonce fans jumped on the opportunity to see her perform in New York City’s Roseland Ballroom on Sunday. BEYONCE EXPLAINS WHY SHE’S SO PRIVATE

It’s hard to believe that in the 15 years that Beyonce has been in the music industry, fans are just now beginning to learn more about her personal life. It seems like it took the former Destiny’s Child singer years to open up about her marriage to Jay-Z or even to spill on what she likes to do on her downtime. BRUNO MARS TALKS VMA NODS

Bruno Mars’ emotional clip for “Grenade” is one of the big nominees at the 2011 MTV Video Music Awards.     The clip is up for Best Male Video, Best Pop Video and the coveted Video of the Year award.   Mars told MTV News that he grew up watching the VMAs and he is excited for the Video of the Year nomination, calling the category “the big-boy award.”   The crooner is also happy that his video for “The Lazy Song” is up for Best Choreography.   Tune in to the 2011 MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday, August 28th at 9 PM Eastern.          

Bruno Mars on the VMAs: “Ever since I was a kid, I’ve been watching MTV VMAs, and when we got the phone call saying that my video was up for Video of the Year, that’s the big-boy award.”

TWEET OF THE DAY

Justin Bieber took to Twitter to clear up rumors.   It seems that the teen singer has “died” before in false stories reported by the press.   He recently wrote: “Can’t believe everything you hear. I was dead like 6 times now.”   You can follow Bieber @JustinBieber.

GAVIN DeGRAW RELEASED FROM HOSPITAL

Gavin DeGraw has been released from the hospital.   According to The Hollywood Reporter, the singer-songwriter was discharged a day after being brutally attacked and hit by a cab in New York City.   DeGraw also took the time to write on Twitter on Tuesday, saying that he doesn’t “remember much” about what happened to him, and that he’s thankful for all the “genuine concern” people are showing him.

Gavin’s complete tweet read, “Hi my friends. Honestly, I don’t remember much. I only know I can recover from here. Thank u all for your genuine concern. I love u guys.”

JOE JONAS SAYS THE JONAS BROTHERS WILL REUNITE

It’s been over two years since the Jonas Brothers’ last album, Lines, Vines and Trying Times, and while the brothers are currently focusing on solo projects, they say they intend to make music together in the future. Joe Jonas told MTV News that the trio is “gonna make another project eventually.”     He added that right now the guys are focused in individual projects.   However, younger brother Nick Jonas said earlier this year that they’re “all kind of in different areas musically” and that the brothers “don’t have the same influences.” Whether or not the Jonas Brothers reunite, fans can check out Joe’s new solo single, “See No More” featuring Chris Brown, as well as Nick’s album with his band, The Administration, Who I Am, in stores now.

BRITNEY SPEARS COLLABORATOR TALKS NEW SINGLE

Britney Spears recently asked her Facebook fans to help her decide what her next Femme Fatale single will be. Among the contenders is “(Drop Dead) Beautiful,” a collaboration with rapper Sabi, who shared her excitement for the potential single with MTV News. She stated, “Nothing is for sure yet. We’ll see. It would be really nice if that were the next single.” Sabi also said she hopes the music video would mimic the stage set she and Spears use on tour, describing it as “very Egyptian, Middle-Eastern-like…I would imagine us in goddess-looking outfits looking vain.” Catch Spears and Sabi on the international Femme Fatale Tour through December.

JENNIFER LOPEZ PREVIEWS NEW CLOTHING LINE

Jennifer Lopez recently previewed her upcoming clothing line as guest fashion editor of September’s Oprah Magazine. She also released some behind-the-scenes footage of the shoot.   In the magazine, the “On the Floor” singer said she has “always loved fashion since I was a little girl.” Lopez added that her personal style is influenced by everything, from her background growing up in the Bronx to her international travels. The line hits shelves exclusively at Kohl’s in September.

CEE-LO GREEN ON FOOTLOOSE SOUNDTRACK

There is some diverse music on the soundtrack to the upcoming film, Footloose.   Cee-Lo Green hooked up with guitarist Kenny Wayne Shepherd for the track “Walkin’ Blues,” while Blake Shelton sings the classic Kenny Loggin’s title song, “Footloose,” and Jana Kramer covers Whitney Houston’s “Let’s Hear It for the Boy.”   The soundtrack also features David Banner, The Smashing Pumpkins, Big & Rich and Zac Brown.   The Footloose soundtrack will be released on September 27th.  

WILL FOSTER THE PEOPLE WIN A VMA?

Foster the People are up for Best New Artist and Best Rock Video for their “Pumped Up Kicks” clip at the 2011 MTV Video Music Awards. Those are the first nominations for the group, who released their debut album, Torches, earlier this year. To see if they win their first Moon Man, tune in to the big show Sunday, August 28th at 9 PM Eastern on MTV.

WINEHOUSE’S EX TO WRITE “TELL-ALL” BOOK

Amy Winehouse’s ex-husband Blake Fielder-Civil is reportedly planning on writing a book about the fallen singer’s life.   According to British paper The Sun, a source says that “Blake’s been planning to write a tell-all on Amy since she became famous,” and that he’d do it if offered an “acceptable amount of money.”   He’s currently serving a 32-month prison sentence for burglary and possession of an imitation firearm.

KELLY SELLS OVER 100K WITH HERE I AM

This week on the Billboard 200 chart, Kelly Rowland took a dive with her latest album, Here I Am. While she slipped from the three spot down to number 13, the former Destiny’s Child singer sold an additional 25-thousand copies, which brings her total tally to over 102-thousand units sold in just two weeks. Not bad for an artist who many people counted out as a viable act.

Jay-Z claims the top spot on Forbes’ annual Cash Kings list of Hip-Hop’s top earners after pulling in over 37-million dollars over the past year. The rapper had a lucrative 12 months thanks to his tour sales, his 40/40 Club, his part ownership in the New Jersey Nets, and his recent 150-million dollar deal with Live Nation.
