So it’s ‘Time To Decide’ now or perhaps 7 Months Later whether or not this Orlando-based rock band has what it takes. 7 Months Later is made up of four members: Chris Ganoudis on vocals & guitar, Adam Sliger on guitar, vocals & keys, David Whitmore on bass & vocals and Nick Davila on drums. They may all be under 20 but their BIG sound would say otherwise.
All the guys have been friends since middle school but they didn’t start playing together until 7 Months Later when they hit high school. ‘Time To Decide’ is a follow-up to their debut 2009 EP ‘By The Light’ and 7 Months Later has decided that now is the time. This record offers up a very cool brand of Indie rock with distinct Pop sensibilities. This young group has an all-around catchy sound that definitely grabs your attention. I couldn’t help but notice the strong camaraderie here which is easily detected throughout the 8-song set. The energy, the fun, the excitement; it was all there on this new release. Track two “Disengage” has quite the opposite effect as it will entice you with a bit of a heavier rock presence. 7 Months Later ends on a powerful note on “Friction” where I was highly impressed from a lyrical & musical standpoint.
It’s nice to hear when a band comes along with an album that seems to work well on all levels. I’m not saying that ‘Time To Decide’ is 100% perfect but it’s safe to say it’s pretty darn close. These four friends and musicians have come together to make something that relates to many because you get serious material mixed with all-out entertainment. 7 Months Later seems to have it all figured out and I look forward to hearing much more from this Orlando band in the near future. So now it’s time for you to decide if they do, in fact, have what it takes to make it.
