24 HOURS OF GAGA ON HBO ZONE THIS WEEKEND!
Following the debut of Lady Gaga’s HBO special on Saturday, May 7th at 9 PM, the HBO Zone channel will play the two-hour concert for 24 hours straight. Lady Gaga Presents The Monster Ball Tour: At Madison Square Garden will run for 24 hours from midnight on Saturday through midnight on Sunday. This marks the first time any HBO channel has been devoted to a single show for an entire day.
KATY PERRY SUING AUSSIE GOSSIP MAG
According to the New York Daily News, Katy Perry is suing an Australian magazine company for a reported six figures in damages after one of its gossip magazines claimed she cheated on her husband, Russell Brand. The pop star filed the claim against ACP Magazines last week, which owns Aussie gossip mag NW, after it published a story last month saying Perry had an “intimate relationship” with her record producer, Benny Blanco.
NICK CANNON IS NERVOUS, MARIAH IN HOSPITAL!
According to AllAccess.com, Nick Cannon was scheduled to provide a keynote address during the Worldwide Radio Summit in L-A Friday (4/29) but he cancelled because his wife, Mariah Carey, was reportedly rushed to the hospital. While the parents-to-be are expecting twins, a boy and a girl, it’s currently unknown if the singer is in labor or not. We will keep you posted with further details!
TINIE TEMPAH PREPS DISC-OVERY
22-year-old rapper Tinie Tempah will release his album, Disc-Overy, on May 17th. The U-K phenom has already scored a hit with “Written in the Stars,” which climbs one spot to number 13 on this week’s Billboard Hot 100 chart.
Tinie Tempah’s Disc-Overy album debuted at number one in his native U-K and has spawned four top five singles.
ARETHA WANTS J-HUD OR FANTASIA FOR BIOPIC
First Aretha Franklin wanted Halle Berry to take on the lead for her upcoming biopic, but the Queen of Soul is now pursuing other candidates. According to SingersRoom.com, the diva would love for either Fantasia Barrino, Jennifer Hudson or Patina Miller, who starred in Whoopi Goldberg’s musical Sister Act, to play her. While nothing is confirmed just yet, Franklin is also looking to include Denzel Washington and Terrence Howard in the flick. We’ll keep you posted.
CIARA LOVED RECORDING BASIC INSTINCT
In our opinion, Ciara had one of the most slept-on albums of the 2010 with her latest album, Basic Instinct. Apart from the solid singles, including “Ride” and “Gimme That,” the overall project had a great flow to it. Ci Ci recently told us why she hopes fans enjoyed it (See Related Cut #9). It’s unknown if she has begun recording her next studio album but we’ll keep you posted.
LADY A TAKE THE STAGE ON IDOL THIS WEEK
Lady Antebellum join Jennifer Lopez and Pitbull on the American Idol stage this week. Lady A will perform their latest single while J-Lo and special-guest Pitbull perform their hit song, “On The Floor.” Catch the entertaining artists giving Idol their best on this Thursday’s results show, airing at 8 PM Eastern on FOX.
STEVEN TYLER GETS HIGH FROM WORKING ON IDOL
Steven Tyler is everywhere these days. The Aerosmith singer is not just on the cover of the latest issue of Rolling Stone but also on the cover of the May 9th issue of People magazine. In it, he speaks about his job as a judge on American Idol, saying that when he appears on the show, he is “high on adrenaline.” The rocker adds, “I’m stoned when that curtain drops. I just don’t snort the curtain dropping. I don’t snort J. Lo either, though I do breathe her in.” In the article, Steven also states, “Left up to my own devices, I probably would have been dead several times over.” Read more at People.com.

Gibson.com has compiled a list of the best albums of the ‘90s and topping it is none other than Nirvana’s Nevermind. The site’s editors, writers and readers all voted and the 1991 record topped the list, followed by Radiohead’s OK Computer, U2’s Achtung Baby, Definitely Maybe by Oasis and R.E.M.’s Automatic for the People.
