ENRIQUE PULLS OUT OF BRITNEY TOUR
It was a rumor, then it was confirmed, and now, apparently it’s not happening. This of course refers to the Britney Spears/Enrique Iglesias tour, which was announced on Tuesday morning, but according to Billboard.biz, has already been scrapped, as Enrique has supposedly “pulled out” of the trek. As far as we know, Britney is still set to head out on the tour, which begins on July 11th in Seattle. Head to Billboard.biz for more.
BRITNEY MTV SPECIAL AIRS SUNDAY
This Sunday on MTV, a 30-minute Britney Spears special will be airing. It’s going to feature clips from Brit’s recent performance in Las Vegas, as well as the interview that she did with MTV News’ Sway. BRITNEY POSTPONES ELLEN APPEARANCE
To celebrate the release of her new album Femme Fatale, Britney Spears was supposed to sit down for a candid interview with Ellen DeGeneres. But it seems that the appearance has had to be postponed. According to a statement on Spears’ Facebook page, “Scheduling conflicts on both ends” got in the way, and they are “trying to put it back together for a later date.”
BRITNEY SAYS MUSIC IS HER WORLD, TAKES THE STAGE FOR GMA WITH FEMME FATALE
Today sees the release of Britney Spears’ new album, Femme Fatale, and she celebrated with a free concert that just aired on Good Morning America. The show was recorded on Sunday in San Francisco in front of five-thousand fans. Brit performed three songs dressed in a stitched tight leather black body suit with an army of dancers. TIME MAGAZINE SAYS TAYLOR SWIFT IS TOPS ON TWITTER
Taylor Swift is getting recognized for her tweets! Time magazine recently posted their list of the 140 Best Twitter Feeds and Taylor made the cut along with stars like Ellen DeGeneres, Lady Gaga, Justin Bieber and companies like Starbucks and Southwest Airlines. NE-YO GETS CREATIVE TO HELP JAPAN
R&B singer Ne-Yo designed a t-shirt and a poster to raise money for the victims of the recent earthquake and tsunami in Japan. The shirts read “Spread Love with Music” and comes in black and white. The limited-edition T-shirts will be sold online for 25 dollars with proceeds going to relief efforts in Japan.
JUSTIN BEIBER HITTING THE GYM?
Has Justin Bieber been hitting the gym? According to Us Magazine, the pop star has been working with a new personal trainer, who happens to be the same one used by Taylor Lautner. A source says that the Biebs is trying to get “ripped abs, bulging biceps, and cut thighs.”
MICHAEL FRANTI EP, VIDEO
It’s a busy week for Michael Franti. On Tuesday, the “Say Hey” singer released a brand new EP called iTunes Live From SoHo. It features six tracks and is available exclusively on iTunes. MARIAH TWEETS DECORATED BABY BELLY
Following Mariah Carey being rushed to the hospital on Sunday after she started having contractions, the mother-to-be posted a picture of her pregnant belly decorated with a butterfly. Mi Mi and husband Nick Cannon are expecting twins. No word on when she is due.

Kylie Minogue would love the chance to work with Britney Spears. The Aussie pop star told Metro that it would be “awesome” if the two could collaborate and that she’s “sure it would be a great thing.”
SMURFS MOVIE STARRING KATY PERRY MOVED UP
The release date for The Smurfs movie has been moved up. According to Deadline.com, the film, which stars Katy Perry as “Smurfette,” was supposed to be released on August 3rd, but will now hit theaters on July 29th.
MADONNA GETS SUED
The girls’ school that Madonna was trying to build in Malawi has been scrapped, and apparently, the Queen of Pop is getting sued because of it. According to Reuters, eight charity workers filed suit against Madge for “unfair dismissal and non-payments of benefits.” NME.com is reporting that Madonna is considering counter-suing.
ADELE RULES THE U-K ALBUM CHART
Adele is really taking the U-K album chart by storm. Billboard reports that the singer’s sophomore record, 21, has been at the summit for nine straight weeks, the first time that someone has done that since The Beatles 1 compilation was at the top in late 2000 and early 2001. She’s also the first solo female to spend this long at number one since Madonna’s The Immaculate Collection all the way back in 1990.
NICKI RESPONDS TO X FACTOR RUMORS
According to MTV News, Nicki Minaj danced around questions of appearing as a judge on The X-Factor. When asked about negotiations, the fem-cee’s alter ego responded with “I can’t talk about that, but I love [creator] Simon [Cowell] very dearly.” She recalled “the pleasure of meeting him and my life will never be the same, darling.” Minaj described Simon as an “amazing man” who she “dreams about every night.” While she did not confirm or deny her involvement with X-Factor, she said the show will be “dope because Simon is dope…I wish them luck.”
BIG SEAN READIES JUNE DEBUT
Rap-Up.com reports Big Sean’s debut album, Finally Famous, has been pushed back from May 3rd to June 21st. The G.O.O.D. Music artist did not explain what caused the delay, but he told the site, “I’m really excited about it. I can’t wait for the public to hear it.”
PANIC AT THE DISCO RECORD MUSIC ON IPAD
Damon Albarn recorded an entire Gorillaz album on an iPad late last year and now it seems the trend is catching on. Panic at the Disco singer Brendon Urie told Spin that they used an iPad to record synths for their latest album, Vices & Virtues. The album just came out so be sure to download it today!
BEYONCE SPLITS FROM FATHER’S MANAGEMENT
Beyonce is parting ways with her father/manager, Mathew Knowles, and Music World Entertainment. Following the surprising news, Mathew said in a statement that the decision was “mutual.” He added, “We did great things together, and I know that she will continue to conquer new territories in music and entertainment.” To let everyone know there’s no love lost, Knowles concluded with: “Business is business and family is family. I love my daughter and am very proud of who she is and all that she has achieved. I look forward to her continued great success.”
U2 PLAY “ONE TREE HILL”
U2 geeks listen up! The band pulled out a deep cut for the kick off of their South American tour in Chile. The guys performed “One Tree Hill” off their 1987 album The Joshua Tree with Bono introducing the track saying, “This is a song we only play on extremely special occasions. A song about love of life and fear of losing it.” U2 return to North America on May 13th for a show in Mexico City.
