BIEBER WANTS A GRAMMY

What is Justin Bieber wishing for in 2011?   How about taking home a GRAMMY?   The pop star told Billboard.com that a GRAMMY win is his “goal” for the year.   He’ll have two chances to do it, as he’s nominated for Best New Artist, while his album, My World 2.0, is up for Best Pop Vocal Album. The GRAMMYs take place February 13th at 8 PM Eastern on CBS.

TAYLOR SWIFT AND JAKE GYLLENHAAL MAY BE OVER

A source has revealed to People magazine that the relationship between Taylor Swift and Jake Gyllenhaal came to a close last month. In December, the two reportedly spent the holidays and their birthdays apart. They were last seen together publicly on December 9th in L-A. No reason was given for the alleged break-up and neither of the stars has commented on the story.

GAGA SELLS MAGAZINES

If you want to sell magazines, then be sure that Lady Gaga is on the cover.   According to the Audit Bureau of Circulations, biweekly and monthly mags with the pop star on the front sold best in 2010.   For example, Gaga’s Rolling Stone issue in July sold 245-thousand copies, three times the magazine’s average circulation.   She also was on the cover of Cosmo’s best selling issue of the year.   Learn more at WWD.com.

GAGA IS MOST “LIKED” ON FACEBOOK

A lot of people “like” Lady Gaga.   In fact, GagaNews.com reports that the “Bad Romance” singer was the most “liked” person on Facebook in 2010.   She was given the thumbs up 24.7-million times last year, one-million more than her closest competitor, Eminem, and 7.5-million times more than President Barack Obama.    

GAGA, MAYER AND KE$HA’S NEW YEAR’S EVES

Want to know what some of your favorite stars did to ring in 2011?   Well according to the New York Post, Lady Gaga had a low key celebration in New York City with boyfriend Luc Carl at a restaurant before having to leave at 11:30 because people started to recognize her, while the New York Daily News says that John Mayer was seen walking through a hotel lobby in Las Vegas, “playing the guitar by himself.”   Ke$ha on the other hand got a little wild, and according to the Daily News, was seen drinking vodka straight from the bottle in NYC and dancing wildly to Miley Cyrus music at a bar downtown.

MADONNA RULES THE U-K GOSSIP SCENE

Madonna rules the U-K.   According to British paper the Daily Star, the Queen of Pop was the most written about celebrity in all of England and its neighboring countries since the year 2000, being mentioned 46-thousand times.   That’s 15-thousand more times than Simon Cowell, who landed at second place on the list.   Other names making the top ten included Britney Spears and Michael Jackson.

CHRISTINA IS NOT ENGAGED

Christina Aguilera has been spotted sporting a fancy ring, but people shouldn’t go jumping to the conclusion that she and new boyfriend Matt Rutler are now engaged.   A source told People.com that it was just a present that he gave her for her birthday, and that “it’s not an engagement ring.”   That’s not to say the two aren’t serious, as the website reports Christina did introduce Matt to her mother over the holidays.

DAUGHTRY TO PERFORM FOR CHARITY

SOME REPUBLICANS ADOPT “UNDO IT” AS ANTHEM

In a recent article in the New York Times, one country artist is mentioned as a player in an unlikely world: politics. According to the Times, “Many seem to have latched on to ‘Undo It,’ the hit by the country singer Carrie Underwood, as the refrain for their planned attack against legislation that grew out of the 111th Congress, when the Democrats were at the helm in both chambers.” Carrie, herself, has been known to stay away from politics and hasn’t ever officially backed any candidates or parties.

50 CENT TO RELEASE WIRELESS HEADPHONES

According to XXLMag.com, 50 Cent has announced that he intends to release his own line of wireless headphones. The mogul has partnered with Sleek Audio to create Sleek by 50 Cent, which will debut during a special event for the Consumer Electronic Show on January 6th.

RICK ROSS ANNOUNCES ALBUM TITLE

According to HipHop-N-More.com, Rick Ross has revealed that his upcoming fifth studio album will be titled God Forgives, I Don’t. The Miami rapper has also leaked a buzz single called “Made Men” featuring Drake. There’s no word yet when the follow-up to 2010’s Teflon Don will be released but we’ll keep you posted.

RICK ROSS TO MODEL SEAN JOHN CLOTHING?

According to Examiner.com, Rick Ross has revealed that he’s landed a new deal where he’ll promote Diddy’s Sean Jean clothing. The rapper explained, “Being a big guy that’s fashion conscious, Sean John is definitely a brand I rock wit.” He added, “It’s a great opportunity for me.   I mean Sean John represents hip hop. He is a Hip Hop mogul.” So far, Rozay has recently promoted the line at Macy’s.

DIDDY WANTED TO PLAY IN NFL?

During a recent interview with Tim Westwood, Diddy shared his previous aspirations before he became obsessed with music. The mogul, who was promoting his newly released Last Train To Paris LP, stated that he wanted to become an NFL player. Puff explained, “I never had any aspirations to become a recording artist, producer, music mogul or anything like that. I loved American football. So throughout grade school and high school I was pursuing dreams to become a professional American football player.”

BOW WOW LEAKS “SHE WANNA F***”

According to RapRadar.com, Bow Wow has unleashed a new tune called “She Wanna F**k.” It’s not yet known if the track will appear on the Young Money artist’s upcoming album, Underrated, which will mark his first release off Cash Money Records. In related news, the rapper is currently working on a documentary about his life called Who Is Shad Moss?   Expect the film to drop later this year.

WAKA FLOCKA RETURNS TO JAIL

Billboard.com reports Waka Flocka Flame is being held behind bars on a 32-thousand dollar bond. On Monday, the rapper surrendered himself to authorities on alleged drug and weapons possession charges, which reportedly stem from his home being raided in November. We’ll keep you posted with further updates!

PARAMORE: THE LAST WORD

Hayley Williams and the remaining members of Paramore, guitarist Taylor York and bassist Jeremy Davis, have opened up to MTV News about their split with Josh and Zac Farro. In the exclusive interview, Williams says she wants fans to know that “We’re ok, you know? The three of us are still here, we’re not going anywhere.” Williams denied online break up rumors saying, “There’s a future and we’re stoked for it.” The interview was a reaction to Josh Farro’s “Exit Statement,” a post on his blog that blasted the band’s actions over the past few years. MTV News will examine the band’s past and future in Paramore: The Last Word, a live stream on Friday, December 7th at 4 PM on MTV.com.
