RIHANNA TOPS U-K SINGLE CHART

Rihanna scored her third solo chart-topping single in the U-K, as “Only Girl (In The World)” climbed to the summit, trading places with Cheryl Cole’s “Promise This.”     According to Billboard, Ri Ri previously topped the U-K singles chart with “Umbrella” in 2007 and “Take A Bow” in 2008, and also featured with Kanye West on Jay-Z’s chart-topper “Run This Town” last year. Plus, Rihanna has had five number two hits in her five-year U-K chart career.   Cheryl Cole’s new album, Messy Little Raindrop, debuts at number one on the U-K album chart, followed by Bon Jovi’s Greatest Hits at number two, while Kings of Leon’s Come Around Sundown, which was number one for two straight weeks, falls to number four.

NEW MJ SONG DEBUTS

The new Michael Jackson song “Breaking News” debuted yesterday morning.   The four-minute track will be featured on the first posthumous album of original material from the King of Pop, which will be released on December 14th.   “Breaking News” will stream for one week on MichaelJackson.com, where the new album, titled Michael, is now available for pre-order. The news of the album release follows last week’s announcement of Cirque du Soleil’s forthcoming show Michael Jackson: The Immortal World Tour, set to begin in October 2011.

DETAILS ABOUT MJ’S CIRQUE DU SOLEIL SHOW

With a new song released on Monday, a posthumous album on the way and a Cirque du Soleil show set to hit the road next fall, Michael Jackson’s pop-culture influence is stranger than ever.   MTV News spoke to writer/director Jamie King, who is helming the Cirque du Soleil Immortal World Tour, and he made it clear that when fans come out to see the show, Jackson’s presence will be felt. Without giving away too much about the 90-minute Jackson spectacular, King teased a bit about what Jackson maniacs can expect, saying, “Michael’s songs are the score for the show, and they guide us and lead us. … Essentially, it’s about following several characters as they get transported through a portal into Michael’s world. This place is Neverland. In that world, we discover all kinds of things about Michael. Things we know … and secrets.”   The Michael Jackson: Immortal World Tour kicks off in Montreal, Quebec on October 2nd, 2011.

NO PLAYBOY SHOOT FOR KATY PERRY

Katy Perry may like to dress up in skimpy outfits, but that doesn’t mean that the pop star is going to someday take it all off.   In an interview with British Cosmopolitan, the “California Gurls” singer said that she’s “like a Burlesque girl,” and that although she’ll definitely show off some skin, she’s won’t “be doing a Playboy spread.”   She added that she likes to dress the way she does because “it’s fun” and definitely in her “deck.”

IS GAGA FIGHTING WITH EVA LONGORIA?

Lady Gaga wasn’t on hand to accept her European Music Award trophies over the weekend in Madrid, but that doesn’t mean that the pop star can’t be upset at something that happened at the show.   According to British paper the Daily Mirror, Gaga didn’t like host Eva Longoria Parker coming on stage dressed as a giant ham — an obvious nod to Gaga’s now infamous meat-dress worn at this year’s Video Music Awards.   The paper reports that Gaga didn’t find it very funny and said that Parker needs to “stop stealing” her ideas.

GAGA SURPASSES SEVEN-MILLION FOLLOWERS

There a lot of people on Twitter who care about what Lady Gaga has to say.   The pop star has just surpassed seven-million followers on the social networking site, giving her almost 800-thousand more than her closest competition, Britney Spears.   Gaga surpassed Britney as the most followed person on the site earlier this year.

IS BRAHIM OFFICIALLY MADONNA’S NEW MAN?

If you’ve heard Nicki Minaj’s “Roman’s Revenge” featuring Eminem, you’d know that there are questionable verses that could apply to Lil Kim. Even though the Young Money standout has claimed that the song isn’t about anyone in particular, the Queen Bee decided to respond back. While performing at nightclub in Queens, New York, Kimmie said to the crowd, “I got more love for Queens than this bitch do. I kill this bitch with my own s**t — I got a catalogue.” You can check out a video of Kim’s five minute rant on YouTube now.

On December 30th, Diddy’s Fifth Avenue Sean John flagship store is scheduled to close its doors. Why? I couldn’t do it without them and I would never do it without them.” To show his appreciation even further, Weezy later posted a video on his official blog and said in the clip, “Thanks for the support.
