SHAKIRA STILL GOT IT

In the midst of a sold out world tour that has been touted by The Hollywood Reporter as “90 minutes of foot stomping sizzle and flash,” Shakira’s newest album, Sale El Sol/The Sun Comes Out (Epic Records), debuted at # 1 on the U.S. Latin Music Chart and lands in the Top 10 on Billboard’s General Market Chart. Internationally, the album debuted in the top five in 13 countries, currently holding the #1 spot in six of those countries.

Shakira’s chart topping successes with both of her Sale El Sol singles have translated to record breaking sales. Not only have the video and album for “Loca” reached # 1 on Latin iTunes, Sale El Sol has the highest debut for a Latin album since June of 2009 and is one of only two albums to reach its sales level in the last three years. The sales alone for Sale El Sol account for 39% of the overall sales in the Latin Top 100. These sales, chart position, and the heavily digital sales are records for Spanish-language albums released this year.
