JUSTIN BIEBER FALLS OUT OF TOP TEN

Justin Bieber’s My World 2.0 drops five spots this week to number 15 on the Billboard album chart.   It marks the first time the album has slipped out of the top ten since its release 28 weeks ago.   The record debuted at number one, back in April and spent a total of four non-consecutive weeks at the summit.   My World 2.0 has sold over 1.8-million copies to date.          

KELLY CLARKSON TALKS MORE ABOUT ALBUM

Kelly Clarkson is opening up about her new album, the follow-up to All I Ever Wanted.   Earlier in the week on Twitter, the original American Idol wrote that she’s “almost completed the album,” and that it probably won’t be released until the beginning of 2011.   She did say that she intends to have a single out before then, and also that she’s “bored and ready to tour.”   Read what else Kelly revealed about the still untitled project at Twitter.com/Kelly_Clarkson.

LADY GAGA & NE-YO TO GO COUNTRY?

It’s being reported that pop and R&B stars Lady Gaga and Ne-Yo are in talks to record a country album. Ne-Yo told The Daily Star, “I’ve reached out to GaGa and our people are talking. It would be amazing if we could do a country and western record, something totally unexpected.” Ne-Yo is somewhat familiar with the country scene after writing songs with Carrie Underwood in the past.

RIHANNA PHOTO BOOK

Rihanna will be releasing a self-titled photography book that chronicles the young singer’s life on the road and behind the scenes.   According to Rap-Up.com, the 144-page book captures Rihanna in photographs from Paris Fashion Week, on her Ellen von Unwerth Rated R album shoot in Berlin, performing at the American Music Awards, and in other candid moments out of the spotlight. The book also features photography taken during the European leg of her Last Girl on Earth tour in April 2010.   It’s aptly called Rihanna and will be available in paperback and hardcover editions on October 26th through Rizzoli Publications.

FREE FAR EAST MOVEMENT SHOW IN NYC

Far East Movement will be taking the Hard Rock Café in Times Square by storm on Tuesday.   The L-A-based group behind the hit single “Like a G6” will celebrate the release of their album, Free Wired, with a free show and CD signing from 5 to 8 PM.   FM will take the stage at Irving Plaza later that night.        

KE$HA SAYS “IT GETS BETTER”

Ke$ha is the latest star to speak against gay bullying.   The singer released a video on YouTube that encourages gay youth to be proud of who they are and that as tough as things may be, they will bet better.   In the minute-long clip, Ke$ha says, “To anyone who is being bullied or abused or harassed, it will get better.”

CEE-LO TALKS “F**K YOU”

According to NME, Cee-Lo Green says his collaboration with 50 Cent on his catchy hit “F**k You” was unplanned. Green said the rapper had put his spin on the tune just days after it was released. Then the pair took things even further by recording a video. Green also says he plans on returning to Gnarls Barkley soon and that he knows his partner Danger Mouse will make time for the project.

GLEE CAST BEATS BEATLES RECORD

The Glee cast has passed the Beatles for most appearances among non-solo acts in the 52-year history of the Billboard Hot 100 chart.   According to Billboard, the cast of the hit FOX TV show scores six debuts on this week’s chart, upping their sum to 75 Hot 100 chart entries, surpassing the Beatles’ 71 charted titles. The series’ actors/singers bow with five covers of Britney Spears songs, as well as Paramore’s “The Only Exception,” as performed on the episode that aired on September 28th.   Glee’s cover of Spears’ “Toxic” is the chart’s highest debut, entering at number 16, selling over 109-thousand downloads in one week, according to Nielsen SoundScan.

RICKY MARTIN AND MORE FOR NEW PSA

Ricky Martin, Elton John, Idina Menzel and Wanda Sykes teamed up with the Give a Damn Campaign, a project of Cyndi Lauper’s True Colors Fund, for a public service announcement focusing on hate crimes based on sexual orientation and gender identity. They all speak out about the need to bring an end to these senseless acts of violence and intimidation.

KYLIE MINOGUE ON TV!

Kylie Minogue will take the stage to perform her new single, “Get Outta My Way,” on Dancing With The Stars on October 26th.   She will also stop by The Tonight Show with Jay Leno for a performance the following night.    

SPRINGSTEEN’S MUSIC ON GLEE?

The hit FOX TV show Glee has already highlighted the music of Lady Gaga and Britney Spears, and next up could be Bruce Springsteen’s songs.   A series insider told ShowbizSpy.com that not only will The Boss’ tunes be featured on Glee but he might even make a cameo as the lead character “Finn’s” uncle.   When star Jane Lynch heard the Bruce rumors she said if it happens it “would be amazing.”   For now, the rocker is reportedly “in talks” with the show.   Read more at ShowbizSpy.com.  

JOHN MAYER IS STILL TALKING TWITTER

John Mayer’s been off of Twitter for a while now, but he just can’t seem to stop talking about it.   In a post on his blog, the singer-songwriter defended his reasons for choosing to quit using the social networking site, saying that “nobody who has participated in [Twitter] has created any lasting art.”   He made sure to say that the statement applies to himself as well.   Read more at JhnMyr.Tumblr.com.

IS GAGA AFRAID OF GHOSTS?

Here’s something from the so-weird-it-can’t-be-true-but-it’s-Lady-Gaga-so-it-might-be file.   According to Britain’s Grazia magazine, the pop star is so afraid of evil spirits that she won’t agree to stay in a hotel or perform at a venue unless it has been scanned for paranormal activity.   A source says that the “Bad Romance” singer “won’t take any risks when she is on the road” and that it’s “important to her to be safe from spirits.”

TAYLOR SWIFT WINS TRADEMARK LAWSUIT

Taylor Swift has won a court case against 16 people who violated trademarks by selling counterfeit merchandise with her name and picture. A federal judge in Nashville granted a default judgment last week, permanently barring those involved from making or selling Taylor Swift merchandise. The suit states her merchandise team found numerous individuals selling fake products during her 2009 Fearless tour, including t-shirts with her face on them. The accused individuals did not have attorneys listed and they did not responded to the lawsuit.

LADY A’S LATEST WEBISODE WEDNESDAY

Lady Antebellum’s latest Webisode Wednesday highlights a day in the life of the trio’s 2010 Need You Now tour. There is a timeline throughout the video which starts at 8 AM, when the crew arrives with trucks and tour buses at each venue. Lady A starts to take on radio interviews around 11 AM, followed by a 3 PM sound check. The doors open for a sold out crowd at 6 PM, and fans lucky enough to score meet-and-greet passes get to meet the group around 6:45 PM. Before taking the stage around 8:30 PM, Lady A warm up their vocals. After all is said and done, the crew begins to load the stage around 10:30 PM and leaves each venue around 1 AM. CMT TO HOST INTERNATIONAL STREAM AND CONTEST FOR TAYLOR SWIFT’S SPEAK NOW ALBUM

CMT and MTV Networks will host an international streaming event and online contest to celebrate the release of Taylor Swift’s new album, Speak Now, at the United Nations in New York on October 25th — the same day her new album is released worldwide. The online contest, Speak Now With Taylor Swift In New York City, will give fans a chance to see Taylor perform live in New York and join her on a cross-country flight to Los Angeles where they will have a chance to speak one-on-one with her mid-air. LIL WAYNE: “PLEASE STOP SENDING MAIL”

With Lil Wayne spending the rest of his sentence in solitary confinement for possessing music contraband, the rapper has tweeted that sending fan-mail won’t be necessary. Wayne explained on Twitter, “I can no longer write my fans” and requested “as difficult as this maybe to say, please stop sending me mail. I love you and will see you soon.” Weezy will walk out of Riker’s Island in less than a month, on November 4th.

50 CENT GETS GIDDY ABOUT CHELESA HANDLER

TMZ has posted footage of 50 Cent being questioned by the paparazzi about his rumored relationship with Chelsea Handler. The mogul was leaving Mr. Chow in Beverly Hills and only giggled when asked if the pair is exclusive or not. Check out the video and draw your own conclusions!

LIL WAYNE TO CELEBRATE IN MIAMI

Birdman recently told MTV News what festivities have been planned for the return of Lil Wayne. The CEO of Cash Money Records spilled that the homecoming party for the mogul will take place in Miami. Birdman stated, “If the concert happens, it happens. But right now, we just want to come home and see our family and party, I think. That’s what we gonna do: just come to Miami, and just party for a minute. Work and party and play. Have the whole team out here, and we gonna do it up. Miami is gonna be Weezy world.” In related news, I Am Not a Human Being currently sits on the number two spot on the Billboard 200 chart.

JAMIE FOXX SUPPORTS DOWN SYNDROME FOUNDATION

During the Be Beautiful, Be Yourself charitable fundraising gala, Jamie Foxx told ET Online about his sister, DeOndra Dixon, suffering from Down Syndrome. The Oscar-winning actor said of his sister’s illness that he can’t “call it a condition. I just call it living. … When she loves, she loves. When she’s mad, she’s mad. When she’s happy, she’s happy, but she always tells the truth.” The recent event reportedly helped raise funds to benefit the Global Down Syndrome Foundation.

JENNIFER HUDSON PERFORMS

On Tuesday night, Jennifer Hudson performed for the two-year anniversary of Michigan Avenue Magazine in Chicago. The singer showed off her new physique and showcased an awesome rendition of Whitney Houston’s “I Will Always Love You.” In addition, Hudson told the press that her sophomore album will most likely be completed early next year.

UPDATE ON DRAKE AND RIHANNA COLLAB

During a London listening session for Rihanna’s Loud album, an alternate version of Ri Ri’s second single, “What’s My Name?” was played. 4Music.com reports the song now includes newly recorded verses from Drake. The singer said of the “young” and “playful” track, “We may even shoot a video for it.” Nothing is confirmed just yet but we’ll keep you posted. Be sure to look for Rihanna’s Loud when it lands in stores and online next month.

U2 PERFORMS NEW SPIDER-MAN MUSIC

U2 performed a song from their upcoming Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark musical in Portugal on Sunday night. The tune is called “Boy Falls From the Sky” and will be featured in the musical, which stars Reeve Carney as “Peter Parker.” The band wraps up their European tour tomorrow in Rome. Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark debuts on Broadway later this year.
