Katy Perry is hot on their heels as her latest single, “Teenage Dream,” climbs up one spot to number two, while her former number one hit “California Gurls” is up one notch to number seven. Taio Cruz’s “Dynamite” falls to number three after spending weeks at number two. “I Like It” by Enrique Iglesias and “DJ Got Us Fallin’ In Love” by Usher, both featuring Pitbull, hold steady at numbers four and five.

Jason Derulo took the stage at America’s Got Talent on Wednesday night. The singer performed his hit, “Ridin’ Solo,” with two back-up dancers. Derulo has sold over 217-thousand copies of his self-titled debut album since it was released over four months ago.
PITBULL AND T-PAIN TEAM UP FOR NEW DANCE TRACK
Pitbull has released a new single that is sure to take the clubs by storm. The dance-heavy track is titled “Hey Baby (Drop It to the Floor)” and features T-Pain. According to Rap-Up.com, the auto-tune-heavy song is the first single off Pitbull’s upcoming album, PlanetPit.
USHER HAS FOUR SONGS IN THE TOP 40!
Usher has four songs currently in the top 40 of the Billboard Hot 100 chart. According to Billboard, his current single, “DJ Got Us Fallin’ in Love,” is at number five, while former chart-topper “OMG” featuring will.i.i.am is at number 20. “There Goes My Baby” falls seven spots to number 40, while “Hot Tottie” rockets 63 spots to number 25. Meanwhile, Usher’s EP Versus debuts at number four on the Billboard album chart, selling over 45-thousand copies.

ANOTHER GAGA COMIC BOOK
The first comic book based on Lady Gaga was such a huge success, so it’s no surprise that another one has been green-lit. According to MTV.com, Bluewater comics will be putting out a 32-page sequel to Fame: Lady Gaga sometime in November.
JESSE McCARTNEY PREPS NEW SINGLE!
Jesse McCartney will release his new single, “Shake,” on Tuesday, September 21st. The song will be will be available exclusively as a free download through popular music app Tap Tap Revenge for the first two days of release. “Shake” is the first single from McCartney’s yet-to-be-titled upcoming album, which he’s currently recording in Los Angeles with producers Sean Garrett, Kevin Rudolf and more.

TAIO CRUZ TALKS ILLEGAL DOWNLOADING
British crooner Taio Cruz is urging fans not to download music illegally from the Internet. The singer told English newspaper The Daily Star that he understands why a kid wouldn’t get why it’s important to not illegally download, but he goes on to say that file-sharing has already harmed his career. Cruz said that he had to create his Rockstarr brand, including a fragrance and sunglasses, to bridge the gap and he plans to add a whole range of products to the line. Cruz has scored two hits with “Break Your Heart” and his latest single, “Dynamite,” is on top of the U-K singles chart and is at number three on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
AFTER WEDDING, NO MORE KATY/RUSSELL TALK
Stories about Katy Perry’s relationship with Russell Brand have been getting almost as much attention as her music, but it may be time for that to come to an end. The lady with the number-one album in the country told the Associated Press that after the pair tie the knot, they’re not going speak publicly about their relationship anymore. Perry says that it’s because once they’re married, there will be nothing more to say about the subject.
CHRIS BROWN TO DROP NEW SINGLE
Timing is everything, so it comes as no surprise that Chris Brown is looking to provide his fans with new material. Breezy tweeted he will release a track called “Calypso,” which was produced by Polow Da Don. Brown described the cut as “what women have been missing” from him. The news comes on the heels of starring in this weekend’s number one movie Takers.
COLBIE DANCES WITH SHERYL CROW
Colbie Caillat has been out on tour this summer with Sheryl Crow, and it seems that she’s been having a blast. MARIAH TITLES HOLIDAY ALBUM SOON!
According to Rap-Up.com, Mariah Carey has named her forthcoming holiday album, Merry Christmas II You. The disc will serve as a continuation of her 1994 multi-platinum effort Merry Christmas, which included “All I Want for Christmas Is You.” The diva is reportedly preparing to record six new original songs as well as older material. The project will arrive in stores on November 2nd with an accompanying DVD. In addition, Mi Mi is looking to team with the Home Shopping Network (HSN) to promote the project.
The songbird’s last Christmas album was released on November 1st, 1994 and has sold over 12-million copies worldwide, making it one of the best-selling holiday records ever released.
XZIBIT LANDS NEW ACTING GIG
In addition to working on a new album titled MMX, Xzibit is scheduled to appear on an upcoming episode of ABC’s new crime drama Detroit 1-8-7. BallerStatus.com confirms the rapper will portray a former street hustler turned record producer on the series. The show premieres on September 21st at 10 PM Eastern.
The former Pimp My Ride host has appeared in numerous films including xXx: State of The Union and Gridiron Gang, as well as in 2005’s Derailed, 2008’s The X-Files and last year’s Bad Lieutenant.
COLDPLAY MAN PLAYS NEW SONG
Coldplay are said to be working on a new album right now and Chris Martin might have unveiled some of its contents this week. On Wednesday, the Coldplay frontman performed at Apple’s press conference to announce Ping and iPod updates. Martin performed a melancholy track called “Wedding Bells,” saying it was a new track that “may never come out.” Fans of Coldplay should check out the performance on YouTube now.
JAY-Z WOULD HAVE ROBBED CHRIS MARTIN?
During an interview with Mirror U-K, Jay-Z revealed that he might have mugged Coldplay’s Chris Martin back in the day before he became famous. Hova explained if the frontman was walking the street, he admits that he “was a different person then… I would have been like, ‘Yo! Who are you? Give me your money!'” The two entertainers, alongside their wives Gwyneth Paltrow and Beyonce, are all very close friends.

According to MTV News, Soulja Boy Tell’em is not only putting the finishing touches on his forthcoming album, The DeAndre Way, but he’s preparing to release a book too. Fans can expect to learn about rapper’s quick rise to fame in Teenage Millionaire. The memoir is the emcee’s first literary effort and will be available in stores on the same day The DeAndre Way drops next month.
Soulja recently explained of the book, “All the chapters break down my beliefs and what steps and methods I took to get in this position.”

Exact details are scarce, but the paper does say that the band is “excited” by the offer.

Weezer have recruited the Jackass guys to appear in their upcoming video for “Memories,” the first single off their new album, Hurley. MTV News reports that the band and the Jackass crew go way back, hanging out as far back as 1991. The video is set to feature lots of skateboarding and “screwing around” from Johnny Knoxville, Ryan Dunn, Wee-Man, Steve-O, Chris Pontius and more, as well as Weezer.
