Fans can begin voting for specific categories like Best New Artist at VMA.MTV.com today.
The news comes just days after the nominees were revealed, with Lady Gaga leading the pack with a record-breaking 13 nods.   Eminem follows close behind with eight nominations, including one for Video of the Year for “Not Afraid,” while B.o.B managed to grab five nods for “Airplanes” featuring Hayley Williams and “Nothing On You” with Bruno Mars.
Florence + The Machine said in a statement, “To be performing and nominated at this years VMA’s is completely amazing and especially for the song ‘Dog Days.’ I recorded that song in a cupboard with no instruments and the sound of the drums was me banging my hands on the wall, clacking pens on MPC’s and generally causing a cacophony with anything I could lay my hands on.”

Lady Gaga previously stated, “I’m so honored for all the little monsters and self-professed freaks of the universe, to have more VMA nominations in a single year than any artist in MTV history. Ironically, I’m even more proud it’s an unlucky number; 13.”
