EMINEM JOINS RIHANNA ON STAGE

Eminem shocked the crowd at the Staples Center in Los Angeles on Wednesday night, when he joined Rihanna on stage.   The rapper helped out Rihanna on their current number one single, “Love the Way You Lie,” much to the delight of the crowd.   Fans were buzzing after the show and were raving about the surprise collaboration.     Read more at MTV.com.  

EMINEM TOPS BILLBOARD HOT 100

As we reported yesterday, Eminem ends Katy Perry’s six week run at the top of the Billboard Hot 100 chart as his “Love The Way You Lie” featuring Rihanna climbs to the summit in its fourth week. Perry’s summer anthem, “California Gurls” featuring Snoop Dogg, falls to number two in its tenth week on the chart.   B.o.B’s “Airplanes” featuring Hayley Williams stays put at number three, Taio Cruz’s “Dynamite” leaps two spots to number four, while Usher’s former number one hit “OMG” featuring will.i.am falls one spot to number five.     Mike Posner keeps rising up the chart, climbing one notch to number six with his debut single “Cooler Than Me.”

KATY PERRY WANTS A BIG TEENAGE DREAM TOUR

Katy Perry plans to extensively tour behind her upcoming album Teenage Dream.   In a live stream on her website this week, she said she plans to “tour the balls off this record.”   Although she is planning a big trek, it likely won’t kick off until March 2011.   She told fans that they can expect an interactive and edible show, where they can come hungry and leave “very fulfilled.” Perry added that fans can look forward to another live stream on August 24th.

JASON DERULO AND TRAVIE McCOY AT THE TEEN CHOICE AWARDS

Jason Derulo and Travie McCoy are set to perform at 2010 Teen Choice Awards, which air Monday, August 9th at 8 PM on FOX.   Derulo will sing his chart-topping single “In My Head,” and McCoy will perform his smash hit “Billionaire” with Bruno Mars.   The Teen Choice Awards will be hosted by Katy Perry.   The show celebrates the hottest teen icons in film, television, music, sports and fashion. Sandra Bullock, Robert Pattinson, Leighton Meester and Ashley Greene will join previously announced participants David Archuleta, Kristen Bell, Miranda Cosgrove, Zac Efron and others.

ROBBIE WILLIAMS VIDEO GAME

Robbie Williams is to be featured in his own karaoke video game, We Sing Robbie Williams.   According to Billboard, it will feature 25 tracks accompanied by all the original videos. The release of the game for the Wii will coincide with the release of Williams’ greatest hits album, In And Out Of Consciousness: The Greatest Hits 1990-2010, which comes out on October 11th in the U-K.  

COLOR ME BADD SINGER ARRESTED

According to the Associated Press, Color Me Badd singer Bryan Abrams was arrested Tuesday night in Honolulu, Hawaii following a fight with his wife.   Police say the 40-year-old was arrested after getting into an argument with his spouse and throwing her across the room.   Abrams was picked up on suspicion of harassment, and released on his own recognizance. Color Me Badd performed a concert in Honolulu on Saturday. Bryan was one of the founding members of the Oklahoma-based quartet. The group is best known for their string of early ‘90s hits including “I Wanna Sex You Up” and “I Adore Mi Amore.”

EMINEM TOPS EURO ALBUM CHART

Eminem is not only topping the charts in the U-S, but he is also on top in many countries around the world.   Em’s new album Recovery was on the top of the European Album chart for two weeks, but slipped to number two behind Kylie Minogue’s Aphrodite last week.   The rapper is back on top this week and maintains the number one album in Ireland and Switzerland, while holding number two in Germany, Norway and Austria.   Other hot albums on the Euro chart include Lady Gaga’s The Fame, Korn’s new effort Korn III: Remember Who You Are, David Guetta’s One Love, Enrique Iglesias’ Euphoria, Miley Cyrus’ Can’t Be Tamed and Muse’s Resistance.

TAYLOR CLOSE TO SELLING SIX-MILLION ALBUMS

According to Billboard, Taylor Swift is a few albums shy of selling six-million copies of her Fearless record. Last August, Fearless had already been certified gold or platinum in 14 different countries by the RIAA. The album has already been certified five-times platinum in the United States and triple-platinum in Australia and Canada. Taylor will release her third album, Speak Now, October 25th, and has written all 14 songs featured on the record.

TAYLOR SWIFT’S LUCKY NUMBER CHOOSES MUSIC VIDEO LOVE INTEREST

Taylor Swift recently filmed the music video for her upcoming single, “Mine” and her lucky number 13 led the way to finding the perfect character to play her love interest. Taylor first noticed Toby Hemingway in the movie Feast of Love, but after she saw him wearing 13 in the movie The Covenant, she knew it was fate. “I’ve got this crazy 13 lucky thing, and he walks on screen for the first time wearing a sweatshirt with a 13 on it! That was the deciding factor. It wasn’t really up to me, it was about the number,” Taylor tells People Magazine. The two have clicked off screen as well. They were spotted together in L.A. this past week while Taylor was in town to record with an orchestra for her next album. Taylor’s album Speak Now will be released October 25th.  

LADY A ANNOUNCES HEADLINING TOUR STOP

Lady Antebellum has a special surprise for Connecticut fans in their latest Webisode Wednesday. The video follows the trio around as they prepare for a local radio performance and announcement. Hillary Scott informed fans they will be returning to Hartford, Connecticut on October 15th for the Need You Now 2010 headlining tour. Tour dates are constantly being added to their website at LadyAntebellum.com.

A KATY PERRY PERFUME

Katy Perry has been very busy.   Not only did she unveil her new album cover this week, but it was also announced that she’s putting out a new perfume called Purr.   The pop star spoke about the cat-themed name, saying that “it just seemed logical” and that the hardest part of the whole thing was “keeping it under wraps for a year” during the development process.   According to PerezHilton.com, the perfume will cost between 35 and 65-dollars depending on the size.

WINEHOUSE CRIES OVER LOHAN

Lindsay Lohan getting sent to jail apparently wasn’t just hard on her, but it was difficult for Amy Winehouse as well.   According to British paper the Daily Star, the “Rehab” singer reportedly broke down in tears while watching a live steam of Lohan getting sentenced.   A source told the paper that “it hit home hard that she could have ended up behind bars like Lindsay… Amy was only a judge’s decision away from going to the slammer herself.”

KYLIE CAN’T MIRROR GAGA’S STYLE

Kylie Minogue has admitted that she is a big admirer of Lady Gaga’s style, but that she couldn’t dress up like the “Bad Romance” singer does all the time.   According to ContactMusic.com, Minogue said that she loves “wearing those clothes on stage,” but that walking around in crazy outfits around town is “just not” her.

PRODUCER PHIL RAMONE TO RECORD JOHN MAYER ALBUM

Legendary producer Phil Ramone – who has worked with everyone from Madonna to Paul McCartney to Billy Joel – is going to record an album with John Mayer.   According to the New York Post, Ramone is interested in using the “Daughters” singer to recreate “the classic sound” of Bob Dylan’s Blood on the Tracks album, which Ramone produced in the mid-‘70s.

LINKIN PARK GETTING READY FOR NEW ALBUM

Linkin Park is gearing up for the September release of their new album, A Thousand Suns. They’re building up the excitement with a new opening page of their website, which mysteriously reads “HELP ME.” The band has also uploaded the artwork for their brand new single, “The Catalyst,” which is out on August 2nd. A Thousand Suns drops on September 14th.

U2 ASKS FANS TO HELP WITH SETLIST

U2 have been making music and playing concerts for over two decades now so they know how to put on a show. But still, the Irish band is open to suggestions.   That’s why they are asking fans which two songs they should add to their set on their upcoming European tour. RICK ROSS TO BEAT OUT EMINEM ON BILLBOARD?

The numbers are in. According to Hits Daily Double, Rick Ross’ newly released Teflon Don album is on pace to potentially remove Eminem’s Recovery from the top spot. The Miami rapper’s effort is estimated to sell between 170 and 180-thousand units in seven days. However, Slim Shady has consistently maintained a high percentage in additional sales since he debuted.   Looks like we’ll have to wait until Wednesday to see which rap star will sit at number one on the Billboard 200 chart.

B.O.B ANNOUNCES SHOOTIN’ FOR THE STARS TOUR

We’ve just learned B.o.B. has begun his very first North American headlining tour. The “Airplanes” rapper is going at it alone for what’s being dubbed The Shootin’ For Stars Tour. KID CUDI GETS PUSHED BACK

According to Rap-Up.com, Kid Cudi’s sophomore album, titled Man on the Moon 2: The Legend of Mr. Rager, will no longer arrive on September 14th. Fans will have to wait an additional two weeks, until September 28th, to get the rapper’s highly anticipated disc.

MTV2 CROWNS THE BEST IN HIP-HOP!

MTV2 is celebrating hip-hop with the first ever Sucker Free Summit paying tribute to the greatest hitmakers of the year. KELLY PICKS NEW RELEASE DATE

Kelly Rowland’s third studio album has a new launch date! The untitled disc was originally set for a September release but fans will now have to wait until October 26th to buy the disc. The former Destiny’s Child alumna has teamed with noted producers and artists like Tricky Stewart, Ne-Yo, David Guetta, Rico Love, Bangladesh, Jim Jonsin, Ester Dean, and Stargate. We’re sure the “Commander” signer won’t disappoint!

THE DREAM DIVORCED CHRISTINA WHILE PREGNANT?

According to TMZ, The Dream reportedly filed for divorce less than two weeks before Christina Milan gave birth to their daughter. The producer claimed in the documents that the marriage was “irretrievably broken” with “no hope for reconciliation.” The papers were signed on February 17th, just nine days before Violet was born on February 26th!

ENTOURAGE STAR IN 50 CENT DOCUMENTARY

HipHopPress.com has learned 50 Cent and Eminem have signed on to appear in a new documentary called How to Make Money Selling Drugs. The film will take an unconventional look into the world of drug dealing with “unprecedented access” to top-ranking government officials. The project will also include actress Susan Sarandon, Entourage star Adrian Grenier, Woody Harrelson, Arianna Huffington and many more. Details are sparse but we’ll keep you updated!

BEACH BOYS TO REUNITE FOR 50TH ANNIVERSARY

Next year, the Beach Boys will mark their 50th anniversary and to celebrate the occasion, Al Jardine says the band will reunite for at least one concert.   Al told Rolling Stone that he, Brian Wilson, Mike Love, Bruce Johnston and possibly even early guitarist David Marks will get together for at least one show.   No word yet on where it will be but Al expects it to be free.   While a source close to Mike Love did confirm there are talks about a reunion show, Brian Wilson’s manager says she is unfamiliar with any plans.   If it does happen, Jardine feels if they are going to rehearse for one show, they might as well do more.   Get all the details at RollingStone.com.
