EMINEM SCORES NUMBER ONE HIT!

Eminem will post the first back-to-back Billboard Hot 100 chart-toppers of his career as “Love The Way You Lie” featuring Rihanna debuts at number one today.   According to Billboard, the rapper debuted atop the Hot 100 in May with “Not Afraid,” the introductory single from his current number one album Recovery.   Katy Perry’s “California Gurls” featuring Snoop Dogg slips to number two after spending the past six weeks at the summit.   Meanwhile, “Airplanes” by B.o.B featuring Hayley Williams holds at number three, Taio Cruz’s “Dynamite” leaps two spots to number four, and “OMG” by Usher featuring will.i.am slips one notch to number five.

EMINEM SCORES FOURTH STRAIGHT WEEK ON TOP

Eminem’s Recovery album will remain at number one on the Billboard album chart for a fourth consecutive week, selling 195-thousand copies, according to Nielsen SoundScan.   It’s the first album to notch four straight weeks at the summit since Susan Boyle’s I Dreamed a Dream spent six consecutive weeks at number one.   Korn’s Korn III: Remember Who You Are bows at number two, selling over 63-thousand copies.   Drake’s Thank Me Later album slides one spot to number three, Newsboys debut at number four with Born Again, while Justin Bieber’s My World 2.0 holds at number five.   Sting’s Symphonicities starts at number six, Jerrod Niemann bows at number seven with Judge Jerrod & The Hung Jury, Hellyeah lands at number eight with their new album Stampede, M.I.A.’s Maya album comes in at number nine and The Twilight Saga: Eclipse soundtrack drops six rungs number ten.  

LADY GAGA AND HELLO KITTY

Lady Gaga was featured on Tuesday night’s episode of Bravo’s Double Exposure, posing for the 35th anniversary of Hello Kitty.   People.com was behind the scenes and gave some details on the clothes that the pop star wore, as well as her giant “funhouse eyes,” which actually had to be painted on her face with her eyes shut, meaning that she couldn’t see anything for the whole shoot.   Read more at People.com.

JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE DIRECTS TEQUILA AD

Justin Timberlake, who stars in the upcoming Facebook movie The Social Network, recently went behind the camera to direct an ad for his 901 Tequila.   According to E! Online, Timberlake cast the brother of his ex-girlfriend, Jessica Biel, in the ad.   Biel’s bro, Justin, works at the tequila company in real life and in the commercial, appears in a party scene that takes place at The Standard Hotel in downtown Los Angeles.

JUSTIN BIEBER ROCKS LA!

Justin Bieber performed at the Nokia Theater at L-A Live in Los Angeles on Tuesday night.   The 16-year-old took the stage shortly before 9 PM and blew through a set of his hits including “Baby,” “One Time,” “Love Me,” “Favorite Girl,” “U Smile” and “One Less Lonely Girl.”   Bieber also sang a little medley of classic hits, including “Wanna Be Starting Something” by Michael Jackson and “Walk This Way” by Aerosmith. Bieber made several costume changes, but he always kept a New York Yankees baseball cap on his head, grabbing it while dancing in front of and next to his backup dancers.  

CHRISTINA AGUILERA’S NEW VID

Christina Aguilera has released her new video for “You Lost Me.”   The clip for the Sia-penned ballad from her latest album Bionic was directed by Anthony Mandler, who has directed videos for Rihanna, Mary J. Blige, Drake and many others.   You can see the video now on Vevo.com.  

KATY PERRY RELEASES ALBUM ART WORK

Katy Perry has released the artwork for her upcoming album, Teenage Dream.   The cover of the album features Perry laying on a bed of clouds, very similar to the imagery used in her “California Gurls” video.   She made the announcement in a video on her web site.   In the clip, Katy discusses her favorite songs on the record — “Firework” and “Peacock” — and answers questions from fans.   Check it out at KatyPerry.com.  

SEAN KINGSTON TALKS!

Last week, we reported Sean Kingston was being accused of sexual assault by two women, but police said the case was not credible.   The charges have been dropped and TMZ cameras caught up with Kingston while he was out in Los Angeles, taking a break from his tour with Justin Bieber.   Kingston told them the allegations were a rumor and that he is innocent.

EMINEM TOPS ITUNES CHARTS

Eminem’s “Love the Way you Lie” once again is the number one downloaded song on iTunes this week.   Taio Cruz’s “Dynamite” climbs one notch to number two, swapping places with Katy Perry’s “California Gurls” featuring Snoop Dogg.   Enrique Iglesias’ “I Like It” leaps to number four followed by B.o.B’s “Airplanes” featuring Hayley Williams of Paramore.     Eminem’s Recovery tops the album chart for the fourth straight week, followed by Sting’s Symphonicities, M.I.A.’s Maya, Sky Sailing’s An Airplane Carried Me to Bed and Korn’s latest album, Korn III: Remember Who You Are.

KE$HA TALKS RIHANNA

Rihanna’s Last Girl on Earth Tour kicked off two weeks ago with Travie McCoy and Ke$ha in tow.   Ke$ha told MTV News that the tour is a must-see.   The young singer said Rihanna’s show is incredible and she is learning so much from RiRi as a performer.   Ke$ha goes on to say Rihanna has one of the best voices she has ever heard live.   She added that sharing the stage with Rihanna has been a highlight of her still-young career.

AMERICAN HI-FI RELEASES NEW VIDEO!

American Hi-Fi have just released the video for their new single “Lost.”   The clip was shot in Los Angeles with award-winning director Chris Applebaum, who previously worked with the band on the clip for their breakthrough hit “Flavor Of The Weak,” back in 2001.   The band’s fourth album, Fight The Frequency, will arrive in stores on August 17th.   Tolhold fans over, four tunes off the album are available now on iTunes as an EP, including “Lost,” “This is a Low” and “Where Love is a Lie.”

HAPPY 18th BIRTHDAY SELENA GOMEZ!!

Happy 18th Birthday Selena Gomez!   Selean is celebrating her birthday in New York City, where she is promoting her new film, Ramona and Beezus, as well as her new single, “Round and Round,” and her forthcoming new album, A Year Without Rain.   Gomez will also be on The Today Show this morning.   Meanwhile, Ramona and Beezus opens in theaters tomorrow.  

JASON MRAZ TO HEAD OUT ON FALL TOUR

MADONNA V. GUY RITCHIE

With her new movie W.E., Madonna is reportedly going to show her ex-husband Guy Ritchie “who’s boss.”   A source told British paper the Daily Mail that the “Snatch” director “made no secret of his views of Madonna as a dreadful” person to have behind the camera when she helmed a documentary about Malawi.   The source said that with her new movie, it “almost feels designed to show Guy who’s boss” when it comes to directing.   Filming for W.E. is now underway.

TAYLOR SWIFT WILL SPEAK NOW ON OCTOBER 25th

Earlier in the week, over 55-thousand fans tuned in to Taylor Swift’s webcast as she released new details behind her upcoming album and first single. Taylor’s third album, Speak Now, will be released worldwide on October 25th, following her brand new single, “Mine,” which is scheduled to hit radio in mid-August. Taylor said, “The new single is about my tendency to run from love, and finding the exception to that.” Swift also revealed she is planning a world tour following the album, and plans to visit some of her favorite places including Ireland, Latin America, and Italy. The album, which is co-produced by Nathan Chapman, will feature 14 different tracks — all of which were solely written by Taylor.

TAYLOR SWIFT TO COLLABORATE WITH OWL CITY?

Though Taylor Swift has been working hard on her third album, rumors have been swirling that the country star may make time to collaborate with Owl City’s Adam Young. Taylor is a huge fan of the band, and recently went to one of their concerts, watching from an overflowing VIP section. Adam said, “I have talked to her. She’s so busy, but she said if there’s time, she said it’d be lot of fun. There’s this weird hybrid country song I’m working on. There’s no title because I haven’t made any lyrics yet.”

DRAKE PREPARES FOR OVO FESTIVAL IN TORONTO

Billboard.com reports Drake is looking to create a tradition for the first annual OVO Festival. The one day event will take place inside Toronto’s Molson Amphitheatre on August 1st and will include performances from Drizzy, Bun B, Young Jeezy and more. The Young Money standout said in a statement, “I truly believe this is entertainment at a level that the city has never seen before. T.I. JOINS M.I.A. FOR VIRGIN MOBILE FEST

We’ve just learned T.I. has signed on to perform during the Virgin Mobile FreeFest. The rapper will be joined by Ludacris and M.I.A. on September 25th at Merriweather Post Pavilion in Columbia, Maryland. RIHANNA SWITCHES GEARS FOR NEXT ALBUM

According to SingersRoom.com, Rihanna’s follow-up to Rated R will be less edgy and more pop driven. Her rep released a statement explaining, “She loves her fans and is trying to make the best album possible. It will be a return to her pop roots but will have enough variety to please all her true fans.” Ri Ri won’t release any more singles from Rated R. It’s currently unknown when she’ll complete her next studio album.

JENNIFER HUDSON MAKES PROGRESS FOR WINNIE

In addition to recording her sophomore album, Jennifer Hudson is also focusing on her latest film project, Winnie. The singer and Terrence Howard have reportedly already shot scenes, including a wedding ceremony, on location in South Africa. In the biopic, J Hud portrays Winnie Mandela, the ex-wife of Nelson Mandela — who is played by Howard. IMDB.com reports the film is expected to open early next year.

MEGAN FOX TO BE IN EMINEM VIDEO?

Director Joseph Kahn recently confirmed on Twitter that he’s shooting Eminen’s “Love The Way You Lie” video. In addition to Rihanna being included in the clip, there are rumors that actress Megan Fox and Lost’s Dominic Monaghan will play the two leads in the clip. EOnline.com reports the two actors will shoot steamy scenes together. The single is off Em’s Recovery album, which has sold over 1.4-million copies in five weeks.

MARK RONSON SPEAKS ABOUT AMY WINEHOUSE

Mark Ronson wants very badly to be a part of Amy Winehouse’s forthcoming album, the follow-up to the ultra-successful Back to Black.   According to British paper the Daily Record, the producer said they recently did a song, so they are “definitely working together,” and he hopes “to work on her album.”   Winehouse recently said that the effort should be released sometime in 2010.

SHERYL CROW TALKS “ALL I WANNA DO”

One of Sheryl Crow’s biggest hits almost never was.   The singer-songwriter told BBC Radio 2 that her hit, “All I Wanna Do,” “almost didn’t make the record” and that “it was almost a throwaway.”   She also said that she is thankful for how well the song has done, saying that she “wouldn’t be here” without it.

PHARRELL CHANGES MIND ABOUT RHEA

Pharrell announced last year that a female singer named Rhea was joining N.E.R.D. According to BallerStatus.com, the frontman changed his mind because he realized “she needed her own band to do the kind of music that she does, which is R&B.” Pharrell is reportedly producing Rhea’s debut album and says “it’s turning out incredible.” In addition, fans can expect N.E.R.D.’s new album, Nothing, to drop September 7th.
