P!NK FINE AFTER INJURY IN GERMANY

We reported last week that P!nk had to be taken to the hospital in Germany after her harness malfunctioned during a show and she was thrown into a barricade.   The pop star posted on her Twitter account that she’s going to be just fine, that nothing was broken, and that she’s just “seriously sore.”   See video of P!nk’s crash on YouTube now.

JUSTIN BIEBER SURPASSES LADY GAGA ON YOUTUBE VIEWS

Justin Bieber surpassed Lady Gaga’s record for the most-watched music video in YouTube history. According to MTV News, as of Friday, Bieber’s “Baby” collabo with Ludacris had logged over 245,746,000, pushing past Gaga’s epic “Bad Romance” clip, which was not far behind with over 245,596,000 views. Bieber, in the midst of doctor-imposed vocal rest while on tour, reacted to the news with delight, tweeting on Thursday that the popularity of the video is “crazy,” and thanking his fans.   He went on to call Gaga “an incredible artist” who he has “great respect” for. Other clips that are among the most-watched music videos on YouTube include: Miley Cyrus’ “Party in the U.S.A.,” Pitbull’s “I Know You Want Me (Calle Ocho),” Miley Cyrus’ “7 Things,” Lady Gaga’s “Just Dance,” and Shakira’s “Waka Waka (This Time for Africa).”

TAYLOR SWIFT TO HOST WEBCAST WITH FANS

Taylor Swift will host a live webcast tomorrow to discuss with her fans around the world details of her highly-anticipated third album. Fans can log on to their MySpace, Twitter or Facebook account to submit questions to Taylor live in the Ustream chat window. Taylor says, “I’ve gotten so many questions from fans… and it’s so incredible to see how excited everybody is about what’s next. LIFEHOUSE MEET ENTOURAGE STAR

GAGA TO BUY HOUSE IN THE HAMPTONS?

It was reported last week that Lady Gaga is renting a house in Bel Air, California, and now she’s apparently thinking about buying a place in The Hamptons.   According to the New York Times, the “Bad Romance” singer is interested in purchasing a home that sits on 7.5-acres and would cost about 26-million bucks.   The location is actually quite close to a house that’s owned by Madonna, one of Gaga’s main influences.   A real estate broker for the property had no comment.

DID GAGA SAVE THE MUSIC VIDEO?

GAGA: “I WROTE A NUMBER ONE RECORD” IN CLEVELAND

After the whole LeBron James debacle left the city of Cleveland feeling pretty blue, Lady Gaga rolled into town last week with some news to pick up their spirits.   The pop star told the crowd at Quicken Loans Arena that she “wrote a number one record” in the city.   She noted on her Twitter account that she skipped a tour of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame just so she could work on the tune in her tour bus.   Learn more at MTVNew.com.

WINEHOUSE SAYS ALBUM OUT WITHIN SIX MONTHS

Many people have been speaking about when we’re going to hear Amy Winehouse’s highly anticipated forthcoming album, and now the embattled singer is finally weighing in on the subject.   Winehouse told London’s Metro newspaper that the record will be out in “six months at most,” and that she “just can’t wait to have some new songs [to perform] on stage.”   She also said that it would be a lot like her classic 2006 effort, Back to Black.

LIVE NATION STOCK TAKES A PLUNGE

According to the Associated Press, on Thursday, Live Nation’s stock plummeted more than 16 percent, wiping out some 322-million dollars in market value.   The stock recovered somewhat to end the day with an 11 percent decline, down $1.10 per share. The company said its adjusted operating income for 2010 is expected to be 405-million dollars, down from 445-million dollars last year, despite its merger with Ticketmaster Entertainment.   The concert industry has been hit hard this summer with artists like Rihanna, The Eagles, Simon and Garfunkel, The Jonas Brothers and Limp Bizkit canceling or postponing dates.

· Live Nation sold four percent fewer tickets in the first six months of this year as they did last year. For the Top 100 bands in the industry as a whole, the drop was 12 percent.

· Live Nation’s gross ticket revenue was down nine percent to 822-million dollars for the first six months. That’s compared to a 17 percent decline to 966-million dollars for the Top 100 tours, according to tracking firm Pollstar.

· U2’s postponement of its tour until next year will cost Live Nation six-million dollars this year, although it should make it up next year on the rescheduled tour.

ROBBIE WILLIAMS REJOINS TAKE THAT

Robbie Williams has rejoined Take That to record their first album together since he left the band 15 years ago.   According to Billboard, Williams got back together with the other four members of the successful British group in New York last September and the new album will be released in November.   Take That enjoyed global success in the early 1990s, but Williams quit in 1995 before going on to a highly successful solo career. The other four members of the group split up the following year.   Williams became one of Europe’s most successful entertainers selling some 57-million albums, and he has won more Brit Awards than any other artist. Take That reformed without Williams in 2005, and have seen their popularity rise over the past few years.  

Robbie Williams said, “I get embarrassingly excited when the five of us are in a room. It feels like coming home.”

BIG NAMES HELP OUT SANTANA ON NEW ALBUM

More details have just become available regarding Carlos Santana’s forthcoming album, Guitar Heaven: The Greatest Guitar Classics of All Time.   According to a press release, it will be out on September 21st, and will feature covers of tunes like The Beatles’ “While My Guitar Gently Weeps,” Def Leppard’s “Photograph,” CCR’s “Fortunate Son” and many others.   Artists lending their vocals to the project will include Rob Thomas, Chris Daughtry, Pat Monahan, Gavin Rossdale, Scott Stapp.   Learn more at Santana.com.
