Over the last two evenings, legendary guitarist Jeff Beck has headlined two power-packed shows at the famous Iridium Jazz Club in New York. Dubbed as “inspired” and “passionate” by the New York Times, the events honored the late, great guitarist Les Paul. Sponsored by Gibson Guitar, the two intimate evenings, billed as “A Celebration of Les Paul,” featured Beck playing some of Paul’s classic tracks as well as other rockabilly standards. Among the musical greats and celebrities in attendance at the shows were David Bowie, Steve Miller, Kirk Hammett, Meat Loaf, Zakk Wylde, Allen Toussaint, Steven Van Zandt, Warren Haynes, and Ace Frehley. Les Paul’s own son, Russ Paul, was there to observe the dedication of the Iridium’s newly named “Les Paul Room”, the venue for these two musical celebrations.
