Skope: What made you want to play in this show on June 5th, 2010?
Dion Roy: Boston has a great music scene and this show offered me a great chance to get back to Boston from NYC. I’m a big fan of the entire line-up too!

Skope: What have you been promoting recently that you will showcase at the show?
Dion Roy: I have a new EP that’s being released on June 23rd called “The Nearest Light” so I’ll be playing a few of those songs from the new album – on a new audience!

Skope: What other bands are you excited to see live?
Dion Roy: Matt Shwachman is great, really looking forward to seeing his band, and Brian   Jarvis and I cross paths often, but never at the same time – I suppose it was a matter of time before we did, and I can’t wait!

Skope: How does it feel to play Boston in such an iconic venue as Copperfield’s?
Dion Roy: Boston is such a historic town and when I was at Berklee for a few classes I confirmed just how amazing of a city it is.

Skope: What is your methodolgy to get ready for a big show like this?
Dion Roy: The anti rock star regiment, Sleep, Healthy Eating, and taking it easy while making sure Im ready to put on a great show. The most important thing to me is to keep the crowd pumped, so I really just focus on that, and keeping the crowd entertained.

Skope: What can fans & readers expect from this live show?
Dion Roy: They can expect some great tunes including new tracks from my upcoming EP as well as songs from my album “Gallery” which came out last year. Oh, and don’t forget killer harmonies with my guitar player Pete!

Skope   Why is it important to you that proceeds to benefit Success For Kids – sfk.org?
Dion Roy: I think it’s really important that all children feel empowered in this world, and anything that I can do to encourage that and to help, I’m happy to. I tend to play lots of benefit shows, and just last month raised hundreds of dollars for the lymphoma society which was helped significantly by me donating my album sales at that show. Theres so many that need help, and Im happy to do what I can for them.

Skope: What is coming up for your band beyond this June 5th show?
Dion Roy: Well most importantly, we’ve been working really hard and are looking forward to the new EP release on June 23rd.   We’ll be holdiing a release party at the amazing “Living Room” in New York, and we are expecting many more press and radio interviews.
