JUSTIN BIEBER CAUSES ANOTHER RIOT

Justin Bieber made headlines back in November when a crowd of teenagers got out of control before he was supposed to take the stage in a Long Island, New York mall.   Well, it happened again, this time in Sydney, Australia.   According to the Associated Press, thousands of frenzied teenagers, who spent the night camped out by Sydney Harbor awaiting a Justin Bieber, surged toward the venue Monday morning, sending at least eight girls to the hospital and injuring several more.   Police canceled the performance after the swarm, which may have begun when rumors spread that the 16-year-old Canadian heartthrob had arrived early.   In the crush, at least ten girls fainted and paramedics had to pull them out of the crowd.   Bieber took to Twitter to apologize for the cancelation and to thank fans for being understanding.

CHRISTINA’S TRACK LISTING

HMV’S U-K website has released the track listing for Christina Aguilera’s new album Bionic.   The record kicks off with the title track and features songs like “You Lost Me,” “Stronger,” “Sex For Breakfast,” Glam,” “All I Need” and “Birds of Prey.”   No word on whether this is the official track listing for the States. CHRISTINA’S NEW VIDEO TO PREMIERE ON FRIDAY

Christina Aguilera will be premiering her video for “Not Myself Tonight” on VEVO on Friday at 12:01 AM Eastern.   The Hype Williams directed clip was shot earlier this month. Christina’s Bionic album hits stores on June 8th.

PARENTS UPSET OVER T.I. SPEAKING TO MIDDLE SCHOOL KIDS

According to Georgia Action 2 News, many parents were outraged that T.I. was recently allowed to speak to their children at Woodland Middle School in Henry County, Georgia. Why? Well, they felt it was inappropriate that the rapper, who has a criminal history, was allowed to speak to kids. One concerned father sent an email to the principal stating: “In the future, if T.I. or any other convicted felon needs to perform community service, ask for parental permission to allow our children to be exposed to these questionable individuals.”

DRAKE KISSES FAN ON STAGE

During the Nashville, Tennessee stop of his Away From Home tour over the weekend, Drake kissed one of his female fans. JAY-Z GRABS DRAKE, MR HUDSON FOR U-K DATES

We’ve just learned Jay-Z has tapped Drake and Mr. Hudson to play spot dates for the European leg of his Blueprint 3 Tour. WHO IS MICHELLE OBAMA LISTENING TO?

During “Take Your Child to Work Day” last week, Michelle Obama revealed to the kids of White House staff members who she listens to on her iPod. The First Lady’s playlist includes Stevie Wonder, Michael Jackson, Rihanna, Beyonce and new material from Usher. Michelle told the kids, “I love to dance, I love a good beat.” Back in October, on a visit to The Jay Leno Show, she mentioned she also listens to Sting, Mary J. Blige, Robin Thicke and Herbie Hancock.

RIHANNA TO SHOOT NEW SINGLE IN PARIS?

We’ve learned through RihannaDaily.com that Rihanna is preparing to shoot the video for her new single, “Te Amo,” in Paris. The cut will be directed by her long-time collaborator, Anthony Mandler. The song will be released internationally, while her “Rockstar 101” single will be distributed in the U-S only.

MARIAH PREPS CHRISTMAS ALBUM

After scrapping her Memoirs remix album, there’s been a little confusion on if Mariah Carey is working on a new studio effort or not. Though her camp has not yet announced it, according to MariahDaily.com, famed photographer David LaChapelle has confirmed that the singer is, in fact, working on a Christmas album. No release date or titles were provided but we’ll keep you posted with further details.

WINEHOUSE WORKING WITH QUINCY JONES ON NEW ALBUM?

More info is coming out about Amy Winehouse’s highly anticipated third album, the follow up to her hit sophomore effort Back to Black.   The embattled singer is working with Mark Ronson on the album, and apparently, with legendary music producer Quincy Jones.   According to AceShowBiz.com, Amy’s dad Mitch said that his daughter recorded “three tracks” for Jones over the weekend, and that she’s “doing great.”      

LEONA LEWIS MAKES BIG BUCKS

Leona Lewis is England’s wealthiest young musician.   According to the Sunday Times Rich List: Young Music Millionaires Aged 30 and Under, the X-Factor winner is at the top, worth over 11-million pounds, or around 15-million dollars.   Other notables on the list include Natasha Bedingfield and Lily Allen, worth six-million and five-million pounds, respectively.

KATY PERRY WANTS TO GIVE UP SMOKING

Katy Perry wants to give up smoking by any means necessary.   According to British paper the Daily Mirror, the pop star told a friend that it’s her impending wedding to Russell Brand that has made her take up the habit, and that she’s been thinking about “going to have hypnotherapy” to help her break it.   She went on to say that smoking is a “bad habit” and that she would never tell kids that it’s cool.

LILY ALLEN GETS HER OWN TV SHOW

Lily Allen is getting her own TV show.   The pop star is retiring from music in an effort to make it in the fashion world, and now, British station Channel 4 is going to be documenting her journey.   According to ContactMusic.com, a spokesperson for the network verified that it is indeed happening, but that “the name and how many shows there will be is still undecided.”   It’s due to air sometime next year.

NEW ALBUM FROM CYNDI LAUPER

Cyndi Lauper is releasing a new album.   It’s called Memphis Blues and features covers of blues classics, as well as collaborations with B.B. King, Jonny Lang and many others.   Memphis Blues is due to hit shelves on June 22nd.   Learn more at CyndiLauper.com.

IS JOHN MAYER DONE WITH TWITTER?

Could John Mayer’s days on Twitter be coming to an end?   The singer-songwriter spoke about the social networking site at a question-and-answer session at the ASCAP expo late last week, and Mayer said that he’s being thinking about canceling Twitter “every night for the last two weeks.”   He also said that “the only positive thing on Twitter is saying ‘Thank you’ and directing [followers] to something cool and important.”   Last we checked, Mayer’s Twitter was still up and running.

THE SCRIPT LIKE CAROLINA LIAR

Carolina Liar have fans in Ireland.   That’s because The Script drummer Glen Power took to the band’s Twitter account to say that he loves the group’s hit song “Show Me What I’m Looking For.”   Power also wrote that he’s had the chance to hang out with frontman Chad Wolf and the rest of the group and that they are “sound lads.”

MELISSA ETHERIDGE ON DWTS

Dancing with the Stars is going to be even better than usual this week.   That’s because Melissa Etheridge is going to be celebrating the release of her latest album, Fearless Love, by performing the titled track on the hit ABC show.   And not only that, but the singer-songwriter will also be performing her timeless tune “Come to My Window” as well.   Be sure to catch Melissa on tonight’s episode of Dancing with the Stars when it airs at 8 PM Eastern on ABC.

WE ARE THE FALLEN ROCK L-A

We Are The Fallen rocked the Wiltern Theater in Los Angeles, California on Friday night.   The band, featuring former members of Evanescence and American Idol finalist Carly Smithson, blazed through their set, opening with “Burn” before playing more songs off their debut album, Tear The World Down, including their new single “Bury Me Alive,” which whipped the crowd into a frenzy.   The group also did a rocking cover of Madonna’s “Like a Prayer,” and Iron Maiden’s classic “Flight of Icarus.”   We Are The Fallen are currently opening up for Finnish rockers Him.   That outing wraps with a three night stand at Irving Plaza in New York City.   The band heads out on their own starting on May 13th in Northampton, Maine.   We Are The Fallen’s debut album, Tear The World Down, will hit stores on May 11th.    

SHINEDOWN ANNOUCE CARNIVAL OF MADNESS TOUR

Shinedown have announced a massive summer tour. The Carnival of Madness Tour will feature Shinedown, Chevelle, Sevendust, Puddle of Mudd, 10 Years and more. LINKIN PARK DEBUT NEW SONG THROUGH GAME

Linkin Park’s 8-Bit Rebellion video game has launched! The game, which can be played on iPhone, iPod, iTouch and iPads, features a brand new track from the band called “Blackbirds” and eight remixes of the band’s hits. DAMON ALBARN TALKS POP

Gorillaz mastermind Damon Albarn has sold millions of albums with his animated band, so he knows a thing or two abut pop music. He spoke to MTV News about some of our latest stars like Justin Bieber, of which he says, “His hairstyle has really kind of captured the imagination, along with Simon Cowell’s rubber duck. But that’s just a hairstyle.” Of pop as a genre though, the Blur singer stated, “Good pop music should last, it should be what people listen to, because if you want pop, it’s better. It might not look as attractive or carry the same cultural clichés, but, as for actual music, it’s better. And music is still actually important, and once it loses all sense of integrity, our culture will die.”

BRET MICHAELS UPDATE

Bret Michaels is still in critical condition after suffering a brain hemorrhage.   According to a post on the Poison singer’s Facebook page, he is still in the ICU under 24 hour doctors care and supervision as they try to find the source of the bleeding in his brain.   Once it’s located, the hope is that the slurred speech, blurred vision and dizziness Bret’s feeling will go away.   Meanwhile, a source told People.com that the rocker originally went to the hospital on Thursday because he felt he was being hit in the head with a baseball bat over and over again.   Michaels is heavily sedated and according to RadarOnline.com, has his daughters, tour manager and ex-girlfriend at his side at the hospital.  

Bret’s dad told Radar Online that while they don’t know for sure, the doctors feel the brain bleeding is a complication related to the singer’s type 1 diabetes.  

DONALD TRUMP THINKS TONYS LED TO BRET’S HEMORRHAGE

Donald Trump is no doctor but the mogul is talking to TMZ.com as though he is one.   The Donald told the site that Bret Michaels, who is in the hospital after suffering a brain hemorrhage, is in “big big trouble and the prognosis is not great.”   Trump, who worked with the Poison singer on Celebrity Apprentice, also thinks that Bret’s appearance at the 2009 Tonys has something to do with his health issues.   You’ll remember part of the stage came down on the rocker’s head at the awards show.
