DC-based brother duo Bluebrain unveil the new video for single “Ten by Ten” today by praised director Gabe Askew. Best known for his Ed Droste-applauded fan video for Grizzly Bear’s “Two Weeks,” Askew directed and animated Bluebrain’s video with the same elaborate detail. “Ten by Ten” is the new single from Bluebrain’s electro-rock debut album Soft Power (February, Lujo Records), which The Onion’s AV Club described as a “lush, perplexing affair… swelling from clever electro-pop ditties to dense, cathartic arrangements.” Askew uses slick illustration-inspired CGI to portray a troubled man aboard his remote ocean vessel, exposing his struggles with distress and loneliness.
