U2 BOY GROWS UP

Remember the young kid on the cover of the Boy and War albums? Well the Irish child who made U2’s album artwork iconic is back in the news. In a recent interview with the New York Post, Peter Rowen talks about how he grew up to be a photographer and actually take photos of U2 later in life. He says of the album covers, “Technically, they’re very simple pictures, but they’re powerful. What’s important about a picture is atmosphere and feeling. I gather the whole idea of Boy was the innocence of youth. War shows a much more disturbed-looking child, and I guess shows what the world can do to a child – a loss of innocence.” To see a photo of Rowen now, visit NYPost.com.
