JONAS STARTS SECOND SEASON

Production has begun in and around Los Angeles on the second season of the Teen Choice Award-winning comedy series, JONAS.   Kevin, Joe and Nick Jonas, as well as Chelsea Staub and Nicole Anderson, are back for the second season of the show.   This season, the brothers and friends spend a summer in Hollywood, where they have rented a Hollywood Hills house.   Joe lands a prized role in a big Hollywood film, Kevin indulges his newfound passion for the movie business by shadowing a famous director, and Nick takes up surfing and feverishly works on his first passion — writing songs for the new Jonas album.

JONAS BROTHERS: LIVING THE DREAM 2

Jonas Brothers: Living The Dream 2, which gives viewers unprecedented access to the worldwide superstar Jonas Brothers’ lives on stage and off, will premiere Sunday, March 21st at 8:55 Eastern on the Disney Channel. The 11-episode short form series offers a revealing look at Platinum-selling rock stars Kevin, Joe and Nick Jonas as they embark on a 16-city European leg of Jonas Brothers World Tour 2009.

NICKELBACK EXTENDS TOUR

Nickelback fans are in for a treat as the Canadian rockers have decided to extend their ultra-successful Darkhorse Tour.   The trek, which kicks off in Atlantic City on April 30th, will now be running until June 3rd, when it will wrap up in Vancouver, Canada.   Perhaps this is fitting because the band wrapped up the Winter Olympics on Sunday in that very city with a performance of their song “Burn It To The Ground.”   Get all the new dates at DarkhorseTour.com.

GAGA INSPIRES THE MUPPETS?

Is Lady Gaga going to influence a major character in the upcoming film The Greatest Muppet Movie Ever Made?   According to HollywoodLife.com, the movie, which is being penned by Forgetting Sarah Marshall star Jason Segel, is going to give different takes on many of the classic Muppets, and a source told the Web site that Jason’s idea for “Miss Piggy” is that she “ends up becoming like a Lady Gaga-esque character living in Europe.”   No word yet on when the new Muppets movie will begin filming.

GAGA TALKS LONDON AUDIENCE

Lady Gaga is currently in the U-K on her Monster Ball Tour, to which she recently added more dates.   The “Bad Romance” singer spoke to MTV.com about her recent shows in London saying, “London is not always an easy crowd, and I remember because I used to open for so many people here. I always found solace when I went to the gay clubs because they were always wild and dancing, and they really loved and enjoyed me.”   Gaga added, “But the O2 was something I’ve never experienced before. Everybody was dancing and screaming and on their feet the whole show. It was really remarkable. I look out into the audience and I hear them singing my music and supporting me and I want to do everything I can to protect them because some of them are really troubled and insecure.” For more, check out MTV.com.  

NEW JUSTIN BIEBER VIDEO

Justin Bieber posted a new live performance clip on YouTube.   The video shows the 16-year-old performing an acoustic version of his new single, “Never Let You Go.” The single is available for download on iTunes now.   Bieber’s My World 2.0 album hits stores on Tuesday.

EVANESCENCE BEGIN WORK ON THIRD ALBUM

Evanescence will return to the studio this week to record their third album. According to reports, singer Amy Lee and company will work with legendary producer Steve Lillywhite on the project, which is set to come out late fall 2010. Lee feels the new sound will surprise people “in a very good way.” Evanescence’s last album, The Open Door, came out in 2006.

IS JOHN MAYER BACK TO HIS OLD TRICKS?

John Mayer apologized to the crowd before one of his shows in New York City last weekend for comments that he made in Playboy magazine, saying he doesn’t want to be looked at as a bad guy.   But the New York Daily News is saying that the singer-songwriter hasn’t cleaned up his act quite yet.   A source told the paper that Mayer went out to a club this weekend and “was drinking and saying vulgar things to the girls at the bar.”   The source went on to say, “He was hitting on one pretty brunette in particular, but she found him slimy because he was being so over-the-top.”   Read more at NYDailyNews.com.

JASON CASTRO TO RELEASE DEBUT ALBUM IN APRIL

Jason Castro, who finished third on American Idol in 2008, will release his self-titled debut album in April.   The first single of the effort is titled “That’s What I’m Here For” and will hit radio on Monday.   Castro is slated to perform his new single, as well as his version of “Somewhere Over The Rainbow,” on ABC’s upcoming special, The Bachelor:   Jason & Molly’s Wedding, which airs on Monday.   Castro’s debut album hits stores on April 13th.

AMY AND BLAKE SEEN KISSING

Amy Winehouse and ex-husband Blake Fielder-Civil seem to be on the path toward reconciliation.   British paper The Sun reports that the two went out to dinner in North London and were photographed kissing.   See the pictures now at TheSun.co.uk.

CLAY SPEAKS ABOUT COMING OUT

Clay Aiken has decided to speak about what took him so long to say that he was homosexual.   According to the New York Daily News, the former American Idol runner-up said he “was waiting like so many folks are waiting – for change – [but] I realized the time for waiting has passed.”   But he also says he has no regrets, and that “the power of truth and living honestly is very liberating.”

LIFEHOUSE IS NUMBER ONE ON iTUNES

Lifehouse’s brand new album, Smoke & Mirrors, hit shelves yesterday, and the band had a very good first day.   The effort was number one at iTunes, and the group went on Twitter to thank their fans for this honor.   Chris Daughtry also wrote on the social networking site that he already picked up the album and it is “killer music.”   Smoke & Mirrors is in stores now.

THE SCRIPT ARE ON TV

Just in time for St. Patrick’s Day, The Script are going to be all over the TV.   The Irish rockers will be performing their hit single “Breakeven” on Monday the 15th on Live! with Regis & Kelly, Tuesday the 16th on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, and once again on Wednesday the 17th, which is also St. Patrick’s Day, on The Today Show.   Head to TheScriptMusic.com for more info.

A DATE WITH LEONA RAISES BIG BUCKS

Leona Lewis put up for auction last week the chance to go out to lunch with her in an effort to raise money for Oxfam’s relief efforts in Haiti.   Well it seems like someone really wanted the privilege of eating with the pop star, because Lewis put on her Twitter account that the prize went for almost 20-thousand dollars!   She wrote that she was “so happy” with the result.

LEONA TALKS NEW TATTOO

We reported last week that Leona Lewis was showing off a new tattoo, which starts at the base of her neck and runs vertically down her spine.   According to ContactMusic.com, Lewis spoke about the tat, saying that it’s a poem that she wrote herself and it’s a tribute to horses.   She also said that her longtime boyfriend, Lou Al Chamaa, wasn’t too thrilled with it at first but that he “likes the message.”

JESSICA SIMPSON ON OPRAH TODAY

Jessica Simpson’s interview with Oprah on her show will air today, and apparently, the singer didn’t enjoy being asked about John Mayer’s comments in his interview with Playboy, including when he called her “sexual napalm.”   ContactMusic.com reports that Simpson looked distressed while answering and told Oprah, “I don’t want people to know how I am in bed.”   Check your time and stations for local listings to see Jessica’s whole interview.

JASON MRAZ’S TWITTER IS HACKED!

Jason Mraz has had his Twitter account hacked!   A post over the weekend promised people the chance to be in the singer-songwriter’s next video if they took an IQ test and beat Mraz’s supposed score.   A post was quickly put on his official Facebook page, saying, “IMPORTANT, someone has hacked into Jason’s Twitter account. Don’t believe anything that is tweeted until we have access back into the account!”   Mraz still has not written on his Twitter since the incident.

KATY PERRY TALKS TAYLOR, GAGA AND MORE

SEAN GARRET PENS RIHANNA’S NEXT ALBUM

According to Rap-Up.com, Rihanna has enlisted Sean Garrett’s writing talents on her next studio album. Unlike Rated R, fans can expect Ri Ri’s upcoming effort to contain feel-good music. Sean, also know as “The Pen,” stated he gave the singer a “very positive, very big” radio record that he describes as a “f***ing smash.” Garrett explained the song is “about getting past any drama and just being happy to be alive. It’s an encouraging record. It feels great and it’s got great tempo.” In addition, the track is a “bulletproof” single that will “stay on the radio for a long time.”

CHRISTINA MILIAN WELCOMES BABY GIRL

When we last spoke with Christina Milian, the singer couldn’t help but tell us what her life was like with The Dream (See Related Cut #2). Shortly after the pair confirmed their engagement, the “Dip It Low” songstress found out she was pregnant with the couple’s first child. Fast forward nine months later and the duo have welcomed their daughter to the world. According to People, their newborn was named Violet on Friday, February 26th. A friend says the baby has “a full head of hair.” Congrats!

FAKE T.I. TWITTER ACCOUNT ALERT!

Ever since T.I. entered a halfway house, the emcee has become more accessible. However, his longtime girlfriend, Tiny, tweeted that no amount of freedom would ever constitute Tip joining Twitter. She wants everyone to know that the new account that was recently made is not him. Tiny wrote: “Just the thought of Tip being on Twitter or Facebook makes me laugh.” The news comes after a fake page was created on T.I’s behalf with a post that read: “Major announcement coming Monday 3/8 @ 5pm EST on TrapMuzik.com.”

LUPE FIASCO READIES FIRST BOOK

According to TheBoomBox.com, Lupe Fiasco recently revealed that he’s working on his first book. The transition from being a lyricist to an author seems natural and something he always wanted to become. The emcee explained writing a book “has always been a part of the plan.” Details concerning the title and release date are unknown but the book will be published under his legal name, Waasalu Muhammad Jaco. In addition, the rapper has completed his third studio album, Lasers, and is currently awaiting a launch date.

A TRAILER FOR SLASH’S ALBUM

Slash’s new solo album, titled Slash, comes out on April 6th, and the former Guns N’ Roses guitarist has released a trailer for the effort.   The video includes behind-the-scenes footage from recording sessions of the CD and boasts appearances by Ozzy Osbourne, Iggy Pop, Lemmy Kilmister, Kid Rock, Fergie and many others.   Check it out by searching YouTube for “Slash Album Trailer.”
