GAGA’S TOUR ALMOST HAS PROBLEMS
Lady Gaga opened her European tour on Thursday night in Manchester, England, to rave reviews, but it didn’t go off without a couple of hitches. According to British paper the Daily Mirror, a source said that Gaga was in a “panic” right up until show time because costumes and pieces of her set got lost in transit from America. The source said that she was “furious” that everything wasn’t in place because she had spent so much money on the show. Everything apparently worked out though, as Gaga was able to do her planned set and even managed 15 costume changes!
LIFEHOUSE TO PLAY NYC ON ALBUM RELEASE DAY
Lifehouse’s highly anticipated album comes out on March 2nd, and on that day, the rockers will be playing a show to benefit a good cause. The band will be playing at the Hard Rock Café in New York City, with proceeds raised from the show going to the charity Musicians on Call. KRIS ALLEN GOES TO HAITI
Reigning American Idol champ Kris Allen was in Haiti over the weekend, meeting with the people, as well as with staff from the United Nations, to see what the country will need in the upcoming months to recover from its devastating earthquake. LMFAO GET POLITICAL
LMFAO’s Skylar Gordy, better known as Sky Blu, was kicked off a plane after an altercation with former Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney. After hanging with MTV News’ Sway in Vancouver at the Winter Olympics last weekend, LMFAO boarded a flight to Los Angeles. And according to Blu’s account of the incident in a video posted on TMZ, he was tired, put his new Party Rock jacket over his face and leaned his coach seat back while the plane was still on the ground. That’s when Romney, seated directly behind him, began yelling at him to put the seat upright. Blu said Romney reached out and put his hand on his shoulder and asked him again to put his seat up. Blu said he knocked Romney’s hand away, thinking nothing of it. In the video, air marshals are seen escorting Blu off the plane. He said they diffused the situation and though the police detained him for a minute, he was not arrested, but given a ticket for the next flight out.
JERMAINE SPILLS ON NEW JANET JACKSON SINGLE
Super producer Jermaine Dupri has given Janet Jackson a helping hand on her upcoming single. According to MTV.com, So So Def’s leading man produced the singer’s tune “Nothing” which is featured as the theme song in Tyler Perry’s forthcoming film, Why Did I Get Married Too? DRAKE EXCITED FOR KANYE WEST’S NEW ALBUM
With everyone awaiting the release of his debut album Thank Me Later, Drake told Rap-Up.com that Kanye West is producing on the project. While working together, Drizzy revealed that he had the chance to hear new material off Ye’s fifth studio effort. The Young Money star stated, “His album is going to be one of the best hip-hop albums in the last 10 years.” In addition, fans can expect West to release the video for “Coldest Winter” off 2008’s 808s & Heartbreak on February 24th.
LIL WAYNE GETS EIGHT ROOT CANALS
We all know Lil Wayne was given an additional month before serving his one year sentence due to a dentist appointment, however we didn’t know the rapper needed eight root canals! TMZ reports Weezy underwent an eight-hour procedure last Thursday while he received teeth implants. Once the rap star fully recovers, he’s expected to report to prison on March 2nd to serve his time for illegal weapons possessions.
JAY Z WANTS TO WORK WITH LILY ALLEN
Lily Allen is set to quit music after her show on March 10th, but there’s one hip-hop mogul that hopes he can convince her to change her mind. Jay Z told BBC Radio 1 that he thinks the “Smile” singer is a “great artist” and that he “respects” her, and that she can’t quit the biz because they haven’t collaborated yet. TONIC IS BACK AFTER EIGHT YEARS
After eight years, Tonic is coming back with a brand new album. CHRIS BROWN’S PROGRESS REPORT
Late last week, Chris Brown appeared in Los Angeles Superior Court for a routine progress report for his community service. Judge Patricia Schnegg reportedly praised the pop singer by saying, “Looks like you’re doing really, really well.” She added, “You are participating and doing a very good job.” So far, Breezy has completed 32 of the 180 days of community labor and attended 17 out of 52 domestic violence classes without missing one.
ASHANTI STALKER IN JAIL
We previously reported that Ashanti’s text stalker was arrested for sexually harassing the singer, her mother and sister, and we just learned a Manhattan judge sentenced Devar Hurd to time in jail. PerezHilton.com reports Hurd has “a very serious mental illness” — especially when Devar said that he believed he and Ashanti were in love. The creeper allegedly locked eyes with the singer at a concert in Chicago and had continued to send her vulgar images of himself masturbating ever since.
ASHANTI’S MOM UPSET WITH SUSAN BOYLE
According to WENN, Ashanti’s mother and manager Tina Douglass is upset that her daughter’s record has been broken by Susan Boyle. For the last eight years, the “Foolish” singer held the record for the largest debut sales week for a female artist on the Billboard charts. Tina stated, “We were happy for her (Boyle) but Ashanti held onto that record for eight years and that was a big feat to accomplish with the music industry the way it is.” She added, “I’m not gonna knock anyone who has their hustle, and that’s what I’m calling it… It’s a little bit different, but we’re blessed to be where we are. Ashanti’s talent speaks for itself. In the next year or two we’ll be looking to break other records.”

WEBBER INTERESTED IN BUYING ABBEY ROAD?
According to NME.com, Andrew Lloyd Webber said he is interested in buying Abbey Road studios in London, after record company EMI announced plans to sell it. The iconic studios, where The Beatles recorded a lot of their music, including their 1969 album Abbey Road, will likely be sold to raise money for EMI to help clear the company’s debts. Webber’s spokesman said the musical composer wants to save the studios where he recorded a few of his musicals, including Jesus Christ Superstar.
