MTV’S HOPE FOR HAITI NOW CONCERT LINE-UP
Wyclef Jean, Bruce Springsteen, Jennifer Hudson, Mary J. Blige, Shakira, Sting, Alicia Keys, Christina Aguilera, Dave Matthews, John Legend, Justin Timberlake, Stevie Wonder, and Taylor Swift will all perform at MTV’s Hope for Haiti Now: A Global Benefit for Earthquake Relief on Friday. The show will also feature a group performance by Keith Urban, Kid Rock, and Sheryl Crow from Los Angeles, while Coldplay, along with a group performance by Bono, The Edge, Jay-Z, and Rihanna will beam out live from London. In addition to musical performances, the telethon will feature more than one hundred stars of film, T-V and music supporting the cause. Wyclef Jean will be holding the fort down in New York City, George Clooney will be live in Los Angeles, and CNN’s Anderson Cooper will be reporting from Haiti during the two hour show. MTV’s Hope for Haiti Now: A Global Benefit for Earthquake Relief will take place Friday, January 22nd at 8 PM Eastern and Pacific and will air on MTV, VH1, CMT, ABC, CBS, NBC, FOX, CNN, BET, THE CW, and HBO.
KE$HA’S “TIK TOK” NUMBER ONE ON iTUNES
Ke$ha’s “Tik Tok” is once again the number one downloaded song on iTunes. The tune held off advances from Train with “Hey, Soul Sister,” “BedRock” from Young Money and Lloyd, Lady Gaga’s “Bad Romance” and Ke$ha’s own collaboration with 3Oh!3, “Blah Blah Blah.” Meanwhile, Vampire Weekend’s Contra is the number one album on the chart. It’s followed by Ke$ha’s Animal, Lady Gaga’s The Fame Monster, Sade’s Soldier of Love and Owl City’s Ocean Eyes.
LADY GAGA & LILY ALLEN LEAD BRIT AWARD NOMINATIONS
Lily Allen and Lady Gaga each scored three nods at the Brit Awards, the U-K equivalent of the GRAMMYS. Bruce Springsteen, Eminem, Jay-Z, Michael Buble and Shakira are up for International Artist Awards. Robbie Williams will receive an award for outstanding contribution to music at the February 16th ceremony in London.
DAUGHTRY TOUR DATES ANNOUNCED
We reported earlier in the week that Daughtry would be heading out on tour in the spring with Lifehouse and Cavo, and now, the rockers have posted the dates on their official Web site. Some of America’s best songwriters got together in England over the past couple of days. Kate Voegele is keeping all her fans in the loop with what she’s been up to recently. In the new February issue of Allure, Beyonce revealed that she is still unsure when she wants to have babies with Jay-Z. The entertainer explained, “I definitely want to have a child, but I know from my nephew it’s a lot.” Bey added, “I hope that those things will just happen naturally. I still haven’t had time to relax.” The singer and her husband were rumored be trying to have a child by the end of the year. Only time will tell.
USHER TO HIRE TEENAGE VIDEO DIRECTOR

JANET READIES NEW ALBUM
In the latest issue of Gotham magazine, Janet Jackson revealed she’s working on a new album that’s “a little different” than her previous efforts. The singer explained, “The writing is about life experiences. There’s a part of me that’s craving escapism, which is a sense of wanting to keep on moving with my work but also of coming to terms with reality. So I think it will be upbeat and light.” Fans can expect the album to drop sometime in June.
CASSIE AND NICKI MINAJ WILL “F**K YOU SILLY”

COACHELLA LINE-UP ANNOUNCED!
Muse, Jay-Z and Gorillaz have all been announced as headliners at the 11th Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival in Indio, California. Vampire Weekend, Them Crooked Vultures, Phoenix and MGMT were also announced as part of the more than 130 acts set to play the three-day festival. CARRIE UNDERWOOD TO STAR IN SURFER FILM?
Although this is unconfirmed, several sources are reporting that Carrie Underwood might be making her big screen debut in an upcoming film called Soul Surfer. The movie tells the true story of 13-year-old surfer chick Bethany Hamilton, who lost an arm after being attacked by a shark. The attack was three years ago and Hamilton is back on the board and surfing again. She even placed second in the Billabong Tournament last year. One of the movie’s actors, Kevin Sorbo, tweeted this earlier: “Name of movie is ‘soul surfer.’ touching story. I will be starring with Dennis Quaid, Helen Hunt, Carrie Underwood, Anna Sophia Robb.”
RUMOR: MADONNA WANTS ANOTHER BABY
It’s nothing more than gossip, but reports are coming out of England that Madonna is thinking about having a baby with boyfriend Jesus Luz. According to British paper The Sun, Madge has been thinking about getting pregnant after her 22-year-old man said that becoming a father would be his “greatest adventure.” Madonna is already a mother of four, including her recent adoption of Malawian baby Mercy last year.
T.I READIES NEW ALBUM
Living in a halfway house has enabled T.I. more freedom to get back to what he does best: music. The rapper is currently working on a new album, according to mega producer Jim Jonsin. The hitmaker told Rap-Up.com Tip “was so upbeat, his spirits were up, and he’s excited to be out and working. He hasn’t changed, he sounded exactly like he did when I talked to him months before he went in.” More importantly, fans should expect to new music fro T.I. later this year.
SLASH’S SOLO ALBUM HAS A RELEASE DATE
Slash’s upcoming solo album, Slash, now has a release date. The disc will hit shelves on April 6th. According to Blabbermouth.net, the British version of the CD will come with a 132-page special issue of Classic Rock Magazine that focuses on the guitarist’s career. Ozzy Osbourne, Dave Grohl, Flea and others are all guests on Slash.
KID ROCK AND HIS BOTTLE OF JIM BEAM
Kid Rock celebrated his birthday in Las Vegas over the weekend at the Palazzo Hotel and Casino, and the “All Summer Long” singer didn’t exactly dress up fancy for his party.
