BEYONCE TOURS IN SOUTH AMERICA

Beyonce has reportedly extended her I Am… world tour into parts of the Caribbean and South America. The entertainer will invade major cities in Brazil, Argentina, Chile and Peru as well as Trinidad. According to SingersRoom.com, Bey’s upcoming concerts will kick off February 4th in Brazil and run until February 18th in Trinidad, with more dates to be announced at a later time.

KID CUDI LEAVES LADY GAGA’S TOUR

According to Rap-Up.com, Kid Cudi has ended his stint on Lady Gaga’s Monster Ball tour. The “Day N Nite” star released a statement explaining his sudden departure was due to scheduling conflicts. The emcee is currently recording his upcoming sophomore album, Cudder, and needs time to fulfill his acting commitments for a new HBO comedy series. He plans to continue his individual tour next month.

KEVIN JONAS GETTING MARRIED

RadarOnline.com is reporting that Kevin Jonas is getting married to Danielle Deleasa this weekend.   Kevin and Danielle, who met in the Bahamas in 2007 while on vacation with their families, will tie the knot amidst family and friends at an exclusive estate on Long Island.

ALICIA KEYS & JAY-Z TOP BILLBOARD HOT 100 CHART

Alicia Keys and Jay-Z hold the line at number one on the Billboard Hot 100 for a fifth week with “Empire State of Mind.”   The tune holds off a strong surge by Ke$ha’s “TiK ToK,” which jumps one spot to number two.   Lady Gaga’s “Bad Romance,” meanwhile, slides one spot to number three.   Iyaz’s “Replay” and “Fireflies” by Owl City stand still at numbers four and five, respectively. “Sexy Chick” by David Guetta featuring Akon, moves up one spot to number six and swaps with former number one, “Whatcha Say” by Jason Derulo, whose second single, “In My Head,” debuts at number 63.   The Black Eyed Peas’ “Meet Me Halfway” is at number eight, “3” from Britney Spears is at number nine and Jay Sean’s “Down” is at number 10.
 
ALICIA KEYS PROJECTED ALBUM SALES

According to HitsDailyDouble.com, Alicia Keys’ latest album, The Element Of Freedom, is on pace to sell 330-thousand to 350-thousand units in its first week. Her last effort, As I Am, sold twice that amount as it garnered 742-thousand in sales. It is unknown where the album will land on the Billboard 200. The official Nielsen Soundscan will be released on Wednesday.

AMY WINEHOUSE SINGS TO MOS DEF, NAS

Amy Winehouse is in England, but she supposedly has been singing to two Americans thanks to Skype.   According to British paper The Sun, the embattled singer has been testing some new songs on rappers Mos Def and Nas.   No word yet on what the rapper’s think of the tunes.

MADONNA AND TIGER WOODS

It might not seem like they have that much in common, but according to the New York Post, there is a way to link Madonna to Tiger Woods.   Apparently, they both used the same sports-medicine specialist, Dr. Tony Galea.   Madonna saw the doc after falling off a horse earlier in the year, and Woods saw him after having knee-surgery.   Madge’s publicist, Liz Rosenberg, said that she knew “sooner or later the names Madonna and Tiger would be in a sentence” and she’s “delighted that it’s sooner.”

BABY SPICE GETS A JOB

Talks of a Spice Girls reunion have died down recently, but that doesn’t mean that the ladies are not working.   According to PerezHilton.com, Emma Bunton, better know as Baby Spice, will be a judge on the British TV show Dancing On Ice.

TAYLOR SWIFT THINKS TOO MUCH

It seems that many young stars are always getting themselves into trouble, but if there’s one who has steered clear of bad situations, it’s Taylor Swift.   And according to ContactMusic.com, the country star feels it’s because she thinks too much.   She said, “I’m the kind of person who thinks and over-thinks and analyses and over-analyses, every move that I make and every word that I say and everything that I do.”   She went on to say, “I think out my next step before I make it. I’m gonna make mistakes in my life… but hopefully because of the over-thinking nature… I won’t make as many mistakes.”

JOHN FRUSCIANTE QUITS RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS

Red Hot Chili Peppers guitarist John Frusciante has announced he’s officially quit the band. In a post on his MySpace page, the guitarist stated that his musical interests have led him other places and that leaving the band was not a choice, rather something he simply had to do. This is the second time Frusciante has left the Peppers.   He first quit in 1992 but rejoined in 2002 for their three most recent albums.   Read more at Blogs.MySpace.com/JohnFruscianteMusic.

ROLLING STONES THE TOP TOURING ACT OF THE ‘00S

The decade is coming to a close and one band has emerged as the Top Touring Act of the ‘00s.   According to Billboard, that group is The Rolling Stones.   The Stones earned 869-million dollars from the 264 shows they played over the past ten years.   During that time, they performed in front of more than eight-million fans.   Coming in at a close second is U2, who pulled in 844 mil in the decade.   Madonna, Bruce Springsteen and Elton John round out the top five with Bon Jovi, Metallica, the Eagles and Aerosmith all making the cut in the top 25.
