LINKIN PARK, KATY PERRY & MORE FOR GRAMMY NOMS

Linkin Park, Katy Perry, Smokey Robinson, Ringo Starr, T-Pain, Dwight Yoakam and George Lopez have been added as presenters for The GRAMMY Nominations Concert Live!! – Countdown To Music’s Biggest Night, which takes place on tonight at Club Nokia.     The show will feature performances by the Black Eyed Peas, Maxwell, Nick Jonas & The Administration and Sugarland.   Two-time GRAMMY winner LL Cool J will host the show.   It will air on CBS from 9 to 10 PM Eastern.  

NICK JONAS ANNOUCES TOUR

Nick Jonas has announced a tour with his new band, The Administration.   The month long tour will kick off at the House of Blues in Dallas, Texas and will wrap in Berkeley, California on January 30th.   The tour gives fans a chance to see Nick in a more intimate setting.   Tickets go on sale in select cities on December 5th and everywhere else on December 12th.   Nick Jonas & The Administration will release their debut album, Who I Am, on February 2nd.

ABC REVIEWING POLICIES FOLLOWING LAMBERT’S CONTROVERSIAL PERFORMANCE

According to PerezHilton.com, ABC is now reviewing their policies for live performers after complaints from Adam Lambert’s controversial performance at the American Music Awards.   Network President Anne Sweeney announced that ABC may have performers sign a contract saying that their live performance will mirror their rehearsals.   Sweeney said, “We certainly don’t want to suppress artistry at any level, but we also have to be very cognizant of who our audience is.”

LADY GAGA IS FASCINATING

Lady Gaga has made Barbara Walters’ annual list of the most-talked-about personalities in entertainment, sports, politics and pop culture. Gaga sat down for an interview with the journalist for the Barbara Walters Presents: The 10 Most Fascinating People of 2009 special, which will air on December 9th at 10 PM on ABC.   Gaga is on the “Most Fascinating” list with Sarah Palin, Tyler Perry, Glenn Beck, Kate Gosselin, Brett Favre and more.  

P!NK TO CONTINUE HER FUNHOUSE TOUR

P!nk is pretty close to wrapping up her Funhouse tour…for this year anyway.   NME.com is reporting that the pop star will be back on the road next summer with the Funhouse Summer Carnival Tour, hitting different stadiums all around the U-K during the month of June.   The current leg of the “So What” singer’s trek wraps up on December 13th in Manchester, England.

LEONA LEWIS AND THE MOVIES

Leona Lewis is getting her first taste of Hollywood, as she recorded the theme song to James Cameron’s forthcoming movie Avatar and also has her tune “Happy” featured in the film Precious.   So would the pop star ever consider a career in the industry herself?   According to ContactMusic.com, it may be a possibility.   Lewis said that she’s “more into scriptwriting and the actual story and behind the scenes,” and “wouldn’t say no if it was the right thing.”

LADY GAGA TAKES A SPILL

Being one the most famous musicians in the world doesn’t make you perfect.   At the opening show of her Monster Ball tour in Montreal, Canada earlier in the week, Lady Gaga took a little spill during a dance number to her song “Teeth.”   She managed to get right up and keep on going like nothing happened, and according to the PerezHilton.com, the pop star later joked about the slip saying, “I’m like a drunk supermodel — and I love it!”   See video of Gaga’s fall at PerezHilton.com.

LIL WAYNE RECRUITS EMINEM ON REBIRTH LP

According to MTV News, Lil Wayne’s long awaited wish to work with Eminem has finally come true. Weezy and Slim Shady join forces on a track called “Drop the World” off Wayne’s much delayed Rebirth album. This marks the first time the hip hop legends have collaborated together — minus the fact that they both appeared on Drake’s hit single “Forever.” December 21st will be a big day for both emcees, as Wayne’s Rebirth and Em’s Relapse re-release are scheduled to drop that day.

LIL WAYNE AND NIVEA FINALLY DELIVER BABY BOY

Despite false reports posted on gossip sites, Lil Wayne and Nivea just had their first child together. The news comes just three days after the singer tweeted that she was still pregnant and didn’t have the baby yet. According to Young Money artist Mack Maine’s official Twitter account, their newborn son’s name is Neal Carter. The new addition marks the fourth child for both Weezy and The Dream’s ex wife.

EMINEM TALKS SOBRIETY

During an interview with Complex magazine, Eminem revealed that he has been sober for over a year and a half. The emcee stated that he has forced himself to not “touch anything” which is the only way he’s been able to stay clean. Slim Shady explained his “addictive behavior” pushes everything he does to the “extreme.” He added, “Somebody told me this once, that the thing that makes me bad is the same thing that makes me good at other things.” Em’s Relapse re-release drops December 21st.

RIHANNA CHOOSES NEW DIRECTOR FOR “HARD”

JustJared.com reports Rihanna has opted to hire a new director for her upcoming “Hard” video. The songstress previously worked with Anthony Mandler for 12 of her music videos, including the visual to her first single, “Russian Roulette.” Ri Ri has reportedly enlisted the skills of director Melina Matsoukas — who created Beyonce’s “Diva” video. In addition, fans can expect Young Jeezy to be on deck for the clip.

CHRIS BROWN, ESTER DEAN MAKE “LOVE” SONGS

Rap-Up.com has posted Chris Brown’s new collaborated song with Ester Dean titled “I Love U.” The Polow Da Don-produced track will reportedly appear on the deluxe edition of Graffiti. Be sure to get your copy when it hits stores on December 8th.

STONE SOUR BEGIN MAKING THIRD ALBUM

Blabbermouth.net reports that Stone Sour is set to enter the studio next month to record their third album. The band hopes to have the record out in mid-2010. Drummer Ray Mayorga says the group is looking forward to jamming for two weeks in December before entering the studio to lay down new tracks. He also says the music the band is currently discussing is much different from their back catalogue, describing the songs as “heavy, dark, melodic and with a lot of color.”

LIMP BIZKIT GO GOLD FOR NEW ALBUM

Fred Durst took to Twitter to announce the new Limp Bizkit album. He says the record will be titled Gold Cobra and it’s set to come out in the first half of 2010. It’s the band’s first album since 2005’s The Unquestionable Truth (Part 1.)  

LINKIN PARK TAKE OUT DEMOS FOR FAN ALBUM

Linkin Park is set to release a rarities album this week. LPU9 CD will be available to anyone who joins the Linkin Park fanclub LP Underground starting tomorrow. The record features nine unreleased demos of some of the bands biggest hits like “Break The Habit,” “Faint” and more. Linkin Park are in the studio right now working on the follow-up to 2007’s Minutes to Midnight.

SAVING ABEL CUT TOUR SHORT DUE TO ILLNESS

Saving Abel will not be performing in the final weeks of the Class of 2008 tour. The trek was cut short for the band after singer Jared Weeks was hospitalized for diabetic shock and the flu. The band will resume touring on December 18th when they play Nashville, Tennessee.

OK GO LOVE NEW ALBUM

On January 12th, Ok Go will make their return to music with their new album, Of the Blue Color of the Sky. The band’s frontman, Damian Kulash, told Billboard that the album is more melancholic and says he is “so much more proud of it than anything before it.” The effort was recorded in two-week intervals from October 2008 to May 2009. “WTF” is the first single off Sky and it’s out now.  

DEATH CAB LOVE NEW MOON

How does Death Cab For Cutie feel about being part of the New Moon madness? Guitarist Chris Walla recently spoke to MTV about having a song on the soundtrack saying, “I love it…the movie is awesome.” The band performed “Meet Me on the Equinox” at the 2009 mtvU Woodie Awards and fans can see the show on Friday at 10 PM on MTV, mtvU and MTV2.  

ANVIL DOC WINS AWARD

It may no longer be in the running for an Oscar but Anvil! The Story of Anvil has been named the Best Music Documentary by the International Documentary Association.   According to The Hollywood Reporter, the flick about the Canadian metal rockers is also up for Best Feature Documentary, but the winner in that category won’t be announced until Friday.
