KELLY CLARKSON WORKING ON NEW ALBUM

Kelly Clarkson revealed the other day that she’s already working on the follow-up to her hit album All I Ever Wanted.   According to PerezHilton.com, the original American Idol said that it’s going to be “really different” and that she wants to write it herself.   Clarkson has been down this road before, getting into a big fight with her record label a few years back about the album My December, which she wrote in its entirety.   No word yet on when her next effort will be available.

TAYLOR GOES TO SEE PARAMORE

Taylor Swift had a pretty fun Sunday night.   According to her Twitter account, the country superstar and a friend went to see Paramore perform.   Taylor wrote that they were “dancing so hard (they) almost fell off the balcony” and that lead singer Hayley Williams “owned it.”

TAYLOR SWIFT BREAKS BILLBOARD RECORD

Taylor Swift has added another item to the history books by claiming the Billboard record for the longest charting album of this century.   Taylor’s self-titled debut album was released in October of 2006 and is spending its 157th week on Billboard’s Top 200 Albums chart.   Taylor is also the Billboard record holder for most top 10 debuts in a year, and being the only solo female act in the history of the Billboard Country Chart to gain five Top 10 singles from a debut album. She also holds the record for being Billboard’s longest-charting female country star in the Nielsen SoundScan era, and is also the only country artist in history to have a number one single on Billboard’s Nielsen BDS Hot 100 Airplay chart.  

Taylor will be hosting and performing on Saturday Night Live on November 7th on NBC.   She is the first female country artist to perform on and host the show since Dolly Parton did it 20 years ago.

MARY PERFORMS “I CAN SEE IN COLOR”

At the official after-party following the AFI Fest screening of Precious in Hollywood, Mary J Blige performed the film’s original song, “I Can See In Color.” According to the singer’s Twitter page, Oprah Winfrey attended as the Queen of Hip Hop Soul sang her heart out.

SPICE GIRLS TO PLAY THE OLYMPICS IN LONDON?

ADAM LAMBERT ALBUM INFO

The tracklisting for Adam Lambert’s forthcoming debut album, For Your Entertainment, has been revealed, and it’s set to feature some of the biggest names in pop music.   According to RollingStone.com, there will be songs co-written by American Idol judge Kara DioGuardi, Lady Gaga, P!nk and many more.   For Your Entertainment is set to hit stores on November 23rd.

MAROON 5 TOUR IS UNDERWAY

Maroon 5’s college tour kicked off last night at Murray State University in Kentucky.   The band is set to stay on the road, playing at different colleges for the majority of November.   According to a press release, the tour is a precursor to a new album from the group, which is due out sometime next spring.   Head to Maroon5.com for more info.

KID CUDI TO COLLABORATE WITH SHAKIRA

According to Rap-Up.com, Shakira has recruited Kid Cudi to appear on her upcoming She Wolf album. Cudi is scheduled to collaborate on a Neptunes-produced remix of “Did It Again.” Fans can expect the Colombian singer to drop her much anticipated effort on November 23rd. P!NK GETS DENIED

P!nk is one of the biggest stars in the world, so you would think she wouldn’t have a problem getting into any place she wanted — but that simply isn’t the case.   According to ContactMusic.com, not only did the “So What” singer get refused entry somewhere, but it was her dressing room at her own show.   Apparently, on Friday in Birmingham, England, security guards didn’t recognize her and she had to show her identification to gain access.

KATY PERRY AND RUSSELL BRAND ARE MOVING FAST

Are things with Katy Perry and Russell Brand getting really serious, really quickly?   According to Britain’s Sunday Times, the comedian said he’s been sober for seven years that he’s “ready for children.”   He didn’t say that he’s ready specifically with Perry, but did mention earlier in the interview that he thinks she’s “lovely” and that because of her, he’s “living in a different way at the moment.”

DAVID COOK KEEPS BUSY

SOULJA BOY TALKS CHRIS BROWN, RIHANNA COLLAB

According to MTV News, Soulja Boy Tell’em is currently working on Chris Brown’s Graffiti album as well as Rihanna’s much hyped Rated R effort. The rapper recalled only being given 11 hours to craft a great song for Ri Ri, whereas he was given much more time to help Breezy out on a track called “She’s Bad.” Only time will tell how the songs came together — Rated R drops on November 23rd followed by Graffiti on December 15th.

RIHANNA DEBUTS “WAIT YOUR TURN”

First she gave us “Russian Roulette,” and now MTV News has learned that Rihanna just released “Wait Your Turn,” her second single from her upcoming Rated R album.   This comes just days before the singer is expected to appear on Good Morning America on Thursday followed by a sit down on 20/20, where she will finally talk about the altercation with Chris Brown.

GREEN DAY RETURN TO THE U-K IN 2010

Green Day has announced tour dates for in 2010. The trio is set to play two stadium shows in England next June and another show in Paris later that month. Green Day were in the U-K this weekend performing at Wembley Arena and following their set played a surprise gig as their alter ego The Foxboro Hut Tubs.

50 CENT PREPS BEFORE I SELF DESTRUCT MOVIE TOUR

50 Cent has hit the road for his free Before I Self Destruct screening tour. According to XXLMag.com, the mogul already traveled to Boston on Monday to showcase his directorial debut. According to RapRadar.com, Rick Ross has jumped on 50 Cent’s new “Baby By Me” record featuring Ne-Yo. Though this isn’t an official remix it has a lot of people confused — don’t these guys hate each other? Be sure to check it out today!

U2 BREAK THEIR OWN ATTENDANCE RECORD

U2 has officially broken their own attendance record for best-attended single concert performance at a U-S venue by one act. On October 20th, 97,014 people went to their show at the Rose Bowl in California. According to Billboard, the Irish band set the old record back in 1987 when U2 played John F. Kennedy Stadium in Philadelphia and just over 86-thousand attended. U2 take the top three spots on the list of the five highest single concert attendances on record.

DEATH CAB FOR CUTIE PLAY HOT TOPIC FOR NEW MOON EVENT

Rolling Stone reports that some of the bands featured on the New Moon soundtrack will play in Hot Topics around the country to support the film’s release. Death Cab for Cutie, Band of Skulls, Sea Wolf and Anya Marina are all set to kick off the mall tour at the Hot Topic in Hollywood, California on Friday. Each stop will also feature a Q&A session with actors and actresses in the movie, but unfortunately Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner will not take part. Death Cab are only set to play the Friday show but fans can check out performances from Hurricane Bells and Anya Marina across the nation. The Twilight Saga: New Moon is in theatres on November 20th.
