YEAH YEAH YEAHS BARE IT ALL IN NEW ITUNES ORIGINAL

yyysitunesorig Nine years into their career, your favorite New York trio Yeah Yeah Yeahs did an iTunes Original featuring perfect-for-fans interviews, and stripped down versions of the band’s songs, new and old.

In a long series of digital releases with past features being the likes of The Flaming Lips and Death Cab For Cutie, iTunes Originals have now featured the Yeah Yeah Yeahs. For $9.99, you can buy 21 tracks (if you feel like including the useless 4-second track of frontwoman Karen O announcing “iTunes Originals”) of the band’s singles like “Y-Control”, and “Heads Will Roll”, along with stripped down renditions of “Dull Life” and “Our Time”, and interviews.

However, as worthwhile and rewarding it is to hear O’s voice soar and make it’s presence in a bare environment with less noise going on around her, the content of the interviews is what makes this iTunes Original a must-have for fans.

On it, Karen O (and “the kids”, Nick Zinner, Brian Chase) reveal how they started up the trio in New York City as a band called Unitard, which then was only Zinner and O, commentary on their glam-rock video for “Heads Will Roll” and much details about the songs featured on the release. If you’re a fan of the New York everything-trio, then this would be $9.99 well spent. It may just create duplicates in your catalog with the studio-versions of some of their songs being included, but they can just be considered the latter upon an otherwise amazing release.
