BARBRA STREISAND TOPS PARAMORE AND MARIAH

Barbra Streisand debuts on top of the Billboard 200 chart as her Love is the Answer album sold over 180-thousand copies, according to Nielsen SoundScan numbers.   Streisand’s ninth number one album narrowly beat out Paramore’s Brand New Eyes, which bows at number two selling over 175-thousand copies, while Mariah Carey’s new album, Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel, debuts at number three, shifting 168-thousand copies.   Breaking Benjamin’s Dear Agony comes in at number four, Alice in Chains’ debut at number five with Black Gives Way to Blue, marking their first new album since 1996.   Jay-Z’s The Blueprint 3 falls four spots to number six, while Madonna’s new greatest hits set, Celebration, debuts at number seven and Miranda Lambert starts at number eight with Revolution.   Selena Gomez & The Scene’s debut album Kiss & Tell enters at number nine and last week’s number one, Pearl Jam’s Backspacer, rounds out the top ten.
