The Backstreet Boys have had to cancel a string of promotional events in New York City because singer Brian Litrell has been diagnosed with swine flu. In a statement, Litrell explained the group was “looking forward to spending time with our closest fans and friends in NYC and take part of PINKTOBER, an unbelievable and important program.” Litrell added, “I hope we can come back soon and do everything we can to help.” BSB were scheduled to appear on the CBS Early Show to perform their new single, “Straight Through My Heart,” off their new This Is Us album — which is in stores now.
