Jon Bon Jovi recently spoke about an incident in 1986 that he says almost ended the band’s career. According to ContactMusic.com, the group had to burn over half-a-million album covers for their classic record Slippery When Wet, because the original artwork was so “awful.” Apparently, the original design was of a girl with a shirt that said the album title, but it was poorly cropped and in hot pink. The New Jersey legend elaborated saying, “The record company said this will be career suicide, and they burned half a million album covers. I took a black hefty garbage bag at around midnight, squirted it with water and wrote Slippery When Wet, and that was the cover.”
