PHISH COVERS KATY PERRY

Katy Perry has a lot of fans and now she can count four more, as the legendary jam band Phish covered her breakthough single “I Kissed a Girl” on Sunday night.   The group played the song late in the second set of their final show of their summer tour in New York on Sunday.   After the song, frontman Trey Anastasio joked that drummer Jon Fishman was singing about kissing girls in a dress, long before that song was written.   The inside joke kinda poked fun at the fact that the drummer wears a dress on stage every night.   Phish, who have covered artists ranging from Will Smith and the Beastie Boys to Nirvana and The Talking Heads, also covered The Velvet Undergroud’s “Rock and Roll,” and closed the show with AC/DC’s “Highway to Hell.”
