OVER 31-MILLION PEOPLE TUNED IN TO MEMORIAL

Over 31.1-million people in the United States turned on their TVs in the middle of the day on Tuesday and watched the Michael Jackson memorial. According to Nielsen Media Research, 56-percent of televisions turned on during the time of the memorial service, were tuned in to it. To put these numbers into perspective, an estimated 38-million people watched President Barack Obama’s inauguration, while 28.9 million tuned in for the primetime broadcast of the American Idol finale this past May.
