As CDs and mp3s serve more as a promotional tool than a revenue stream, The Motion Sick are adding themselves to a rising number of bands looking at innovative ways to distribute music.
Recently inspired by a Digg interview with Nine Inch Nails’ Trent Reznor, the pay what you can initiative available allows fans to donate money to the band in exchange for the music downloads. Front man, Mike Epstein, says of the decision, “We started feeling like we were holding our music for ransom and it felt more natural to let it go.”
