DJ Cassidy Premieres Music Video For New Single “Blame It On The Freak” Via Galore
The video stars mind-blowing dancer, Dytto, whose “animation” and “finger tutting” is awe-inspiring. Cassidy explains, “I wanted this video to be stripped down like the song. I wanted it to represent the essence of my music. Dance. I wanted one dancer, a true original, someone who would blow your mind, someone who moved in ways we couldn’t comprehend, so much so that it was freaky. That was Dytto. We wanted Dytto to represent the freak in all of us, the part that wants to dance like no one watching, sing like no one is listening, and love like no one is judging.”

Following a two-month, cross-country journey playing solo concerts, he entered the studio with longtime collaborator and producer Lee Townsend (Bill Frisell, John Scofield, Kelly Joe Phelps) and created a record that explores where the classical meets the vernacular and the earthly meets the spiritual—all with an eye toward offering empathy and vision in polarized times.
