Day Of The Doors To Be Proclaimed In Los Angeles On January 4 For Band’s 50th Anniversary
50 years to the day of the release of their debut album, January 4 will be proclaimed “Day Of The Doors” in the city of Los Angeles. The proclamation will be made Los Angeles City Councilmember Mike Bonin during a public event at the intersection of Pacific and Windward Avenues, the location of the iconic “Venice” sign. Founding Doors members John Densmore and Robby Krieger will be on hand at the event as will family members of the late Ray Manzarek and Jim Morrison.
The Doors (Densmore, Krieger, Manzarek, and Morrison) are quite possibly the most legendary Los Angeles band of all time. Formed in Venice, The Doors went on to become the definitive sound and voice of the 1960s and influence countless generations to come with classic songs such as “Light My Fire,” “Break On Through (To The Other Side),” and, of course, “L.A. Woman.” Their story has been the subject of countless books and films, including the infamous 1991 film by Oliver Stone and the acclaimed 2010 documentary When You’re Strange, narrated by Johnny Depp. The Doors are celebrating their 50th Anniversary in 2017, as their eponymous debut album was released on January 4, 1967 and is still considered to be one of the all-time-great rock and roll debuts.

Drake Celebrates New Year’s Eve at Hakkasan Nightclub Las Vegas
Hakkasan Las Vegas Restaurant and Nightclub at MGM Grand was a sight to see as GRAMMY Award-winning artist Drake kicked off the New Year with a special live performance. Arriving with his newly rumored love interest Jennifer Lopez, the pair enjoyed a Vegas night out and welcomed 2017 side by side.
As the night began, Drake and Lopez were seen dining at Hakkasan Restaurant. Arriving around 10 p.m. with a group of 40 friends, the stunning artist and actress sophisticatedly clad in a red velvet plunging halter dress, indulged in a number of Hakkasan signature dishes including Crispy chicken with mango and plum sauce and Egg and scallion fried rice. Drake looked dapper in a suit as he enjoyed select items from Hakkasan’s special New Year’s Eve menu including Stir-fry black pepper beef rib eye with merlot. Fully enjoying their time and sipping cocktails, the pair and their guests finished their dinner and prepared to make their way up to the main room of the nightlife mecca around 1:00 a.m. Making a quick outfit change prior to the nightclub, Lopez changed into a sexy ivory colored cutout dress for the nightclub, while Drake opted for a black t-shirt and black jeans.
