Rich Homie Quan And Tig Records Finally Reach A Settlement
Rich Homie Quan (RHQ) and Think It’s A Game Records finally reached a settlement and after several months of suing and countersuing from both parties. The legal battle which began towards the end of 2015 came to an end today and resulted in Rich Homie Quan and TIG settling their dispute without going to trial.
It all started around October last year when Rich Homie Quan filed a two-million- dollar suit against his record label, Thinks It’s A Game Records and its CEO Fly. According to the lawsuit, Rich Homie Quan had claimed Think It’s A Game Records along with Fly had deprived him of royalties for alot of his music; including the singles “Type of Way”, “Flex” and many of his albums. Less than a month later, Think It’s A Game Records responded with a counter-lawsuit against the rapper. In the suit, Fly claimed that Rich Homie Quan Failed to report to the label money he acquired from unauthorized music he released while under them.

ERIC CHURCH CEMENTS SEVENTH NO. 1, “RECORD YEAR”
Eric Church’s second single off Mr. Misunderstood hit No. 1 today just in time for fans to celebrate his seventh summit to the top of both MediaBase and Billboard charts when he kicks-off his first of two sold-out solo shows at Red Rocks on August 9. “Record Year” was co-written by Church and his guitarist/banjo player, Jeff Hyde (who also penned “Cold One” (with Luke Hutton), “Springsteen” (with Ryan Tyndell), and “Smoke A Little Smoke” (with Driver Williams) all alongside the man the Los Angeles Times called “Nashville’s foremost rabble-rouser”), and outlines a story of a heartbroken music-lover finding consolation in the records of some of music’s greatest masterminds.
Church drove home the homage-paying theme of “Record Year” when he performed it at the 2016 ACM Awards in April, which was interfolded with clips of David Bowie, Glenn Frey, Lemmy and Scott Weiland, before releasing the music video for the ode later that month, featuring a 3D audio waveform Church and video producer/longtime manager, John Peets, built by hand with vinyl. The No. 1 follows his Top 15 title track off of Mr. Misunderstood, the album New York Times says offers “shades of the Allman Brothers and the scraped-up Southern rock that has always been essential to Church’s country antagonism here, but also bluesy country gospel.”
Memphis punk band Ex-Cult premiere eerie “Summer of Fear”
Ex-Cult’s Summer Of Fear single features two new killer cuts from the Memphis-based punk bruisers. On the A-side there’s snarling “Summer Of Fear” and on the B-side we have “1906”, a cover of the West Coast Pop Art Experimental Band switched on 45rpm and cranked through a broken PA. This 7” comes housed in a die cut jacket featuring the classic Ex-Cult logo with a printed inner sleeve behind it. There’s also a special version on the record on translucent red vinyl (LTD 500) which is available while supplies last.

Young Dolph – “Rich Crack Baby”
The King of Memphis returns. Young Dolph stunts in his “Rich Crack Baby” video, hanging around the block with fancy cars, bags of cash, and your girlfriend. Fresh off the release of two mixtapes, Young Dolph is also embarking on the 17-date Royalty Tour starting August 9th in Dallas, TX and finishing up September 2nd in Norfolk, VA. Following a July 16th appearance at the upcoming Pray For Peace Fest in East Chicago, alongside Wale, Ty Dolla $ign, Young Thug & Lil Uzi Vert, the Royalty Tour will feature performances of songs from King of Memphis and Bo$$e$ and $hooter$, as well as older tracks and featured verses. “Rich Crack Baby” is the latest from a string of video releases, following “On My Way” and “Let Me See It.”
JUSTIN PETER KINKEL-SCHUSTER (OF WATER LIARS) PREMIERES NEW SONG “LAID LOW”
Kinkel-Schuster, who recently wrapped up a run of dates with Water Liars, will head back out on the road next week in support of Julien Baker throughout the west coast and southwest. He will then join up with Futurebirds for a number of shows in Texas and Louisiana before wrapping up with two shows with John Moreland in Alabama. KT Tunstall Releases New Music Video For “Maybe It’s a Good Thing”

Robbing Millions unleash new psych-pop single ‘Dreams Like Photographs’
‘Dreams Like Photographs’ is the new single to be taken from Robbing Millions self-titled debut album, which will be released by [PIAS] later on this year. In the vein of POND, Tame Impala or MGMT it’s an eminently danceable psych-pop track full of weird and winding twists and turns.
The group, made up primarily of Brussels duo Lucian Fraipont and Gaspard Ryelandt, recorded their album during a 2-week stint in New York in 2015 with none other than cult wizard Nicolas Vernhes, known for his work with Deerhunter, Dirty Projectors, Animal Collective and The War on Drugs, behind the controls. Between mix sessions, they performed no fewer than 8 shows during the CMJ Music Marathon festival.

PITTSBURGH’S BOONIE THE KID TAKES IT “A FEW LEVELS HIGHER”
As the middle child of five, and born in the projects to parents who struggled with drug and alcohol addictions, Boonie witnessed many things that no child, or person s hould have to be exposed to.
