BIG K.R.I.T. RETURNS
Known for recalling the Dirty South sound of UGK and Scarface, Mississippi rapper/producer Big K.R.I.T. honed his craft in the early days by dropping indie releases before Def Jam took notice and made K.R.I.T. a household name.
Just in time for the holiday gift giving season, Big K.R.I.T. returns with a slice of history from the vaults, and the treasures are indeed special on All My Life. All My Life is a slice of K.R.I.T.’s early indie side and features unreleased tracks from the vault that will give fans that same feeling they had when they first heard his sound. This will be a great piece to add to the K.R.I.T. collection and play along side his recent “It’s Better This Way” mixtape.
The album will be available for pre-order starting today, Friday 10/16, via iTunes.

MARC E BASSY X TY DOLLA $IGN
California singer/songwriter Marc E. Bassy is releasing a soulful lyric video for “That’s Love,” giving a glimpse into his life on tour. The track, which features Ty Dolla $ign, is from Marc E. Bassy’s East Hollywood EP, which will be re-released at all digital retailers on October 30th. “The song isn’t just about a romantic relationship even though it’s inspired by one,” the Republic Records-signee explained to Galore Mag in their premiere post. “It’s about love of all kinds, love for your friends, for your family, for your roommates, it’s all love. To me it’s an anthem and a motto: that’s love.”

COURTNEY BARNETT “SHIVERS”
This Summer, it was Melbourne-to-rock-n-roll songstress Courtney Barnett who was open to this tour detour. Barnett recorded “Boxing Day Blues Revisited” (the solemn reprise to “Boxing Day Blues” from her 2015 release Sometimes I Sit and Think, and Sometimes I Just Sit), which tugs at your heartstrings despite the singers’ clear and apparent apathy. “Shivers,” the Roland S. Howard-penned, Nick Cave-crooned nihilistic – and quintessentially Australian – ballad, makes for a perfect B-side antidote. Hear “Shivers” HERE.

CARAVAN PALACE’S ‘<|°_°|>’ STREAM
Fronted by vocalist Zoé Colotis and founding members Hugues Payen (violin), Charles Delaporte (upright bass) and Arnaud Vial (guitar) alongside Antoine Toustou (trombone, machines), Caravan Palace cites influences as diverse as Cab Calloway and Daft Punk. The group first formed when approached to compose the score to a silent porn movie from the early 20th century and broke out in their home country with their self-titled 2008 debut, which charted at #11 in France and remained on the charts for 68 consecutive weeks. Their profile in the U.S. has grown largely via word of mouth, selling over 40,000 records in North America and recently performing at Coachella, where LAist included them in their list of “15 Under-The-Radar Acts…You Shouldn’t Miss” and noted that “you’ll need your dancing shoes on for this keyboard and horn-heavy band.”
GERMAINE “FREAKY”

What originally began as a 6-second freestyle he recorded at a local Guitar Center has turned him into a rising star in the world of R&B. JONATHAN BREE ALBUM STREAM
Jonathan Bree is a composer, multi- instrumentalist and producer from New Zealand.
A self-confessed workaholic and social recluse, Jonathan spends his days (and nights) in a dingy home office attempting to run his record label Lil’ Chief Records (who have put out albums by the likes of The Ruby Suns and his previous band The Brunettes) whilst simultaneously producing albums for artists and somehow finding time to record his own material when he should be sleeping.
VETERAN ROCK BAND HITS THE ROAD WITH LEAD VOCALIST CAMERON BARTON
Legendary rock band Survivor is embarking on their next chapter in 2016 with a new member who has seemingly given new life to one of rock ‘n’ roll’s preeminent bands. With 21-year-old Nashville resident Cameron Barton assuming lead vocalist duties, the group will take their trademark arena rock sound to their loyal and devoted fan base.
Barton steps into the role of Jimi Jamison, who passed away in September 2014. Survivor is excited to have Cameron bring his powerhouse vocal style to the band’s live shows. “He’s great,” says the band’s Frankie Sullivan. “After hearing him, I was in Nashville within twenty four hours. I was in the studio with him about a day later. I stayed with him for about four days, and put him through the ringer. He just kept getting better and kept delivering.” Barton’s commitment to getting the job done is something that impresses his bandmate. “He’s a very focused guy. Most musicians aren’t that focused when they are that young. He learned twenty songs in about eight days.”

SAM MEANS NEW SINGLE
Long before fun. took over the world with the virtually inescapable summer anthem “We Are Young,” lead singer Nate Ruess was involved in another project called the Format with Sam Means. Having enjoyed success between 2001-2008, the band took an indefinite hiatus, leaving Ruess free to sing about Empire States and Means to pursue his own solo endeavor. The latter’s new single “We’re Alone” is taken from his upcoming album 10 Songs, and Format fans will find its sound pleasingly familiar. The piano-driven track surges with a heartfelt chorus: “We’re alone when the lights come on/ Take me down to the river.” It gleams with hints of rosy ’70s soft-rock but with deeper, more wistful lyrical undertones and subtle modern production flourishes.

SAINT DIABLO NEW VIDEO
Guitarist Justin Adams states, “Ironically, Devil Horns and Halos was the last song we wrote for the album, we actually finished it in the studio as life threw us some pretty significant detours… I got divorced, Tito’s mother passed away, and shortly thereafter I was diagnosed with cancer.” Vocalist Tito Quinones elaborates, “The song is about balance in the face of opposites. Things like love/hate, hope/despair, angels/demons, etc… We were facing some difficult decisions at that time, and I think our state of mind is reflected in this song.”
LLIAM TAYLOR DROPS CHILL HOUSE REMIX OF ARIANA GRANDE

SPOTIFY PULLS THE VICTORY RECORDS CATALOG, REFUSES TO PAY ROYALTIES
Victory Records’ catalog of music was pulled from Spotify last night as a result of Spotify not properly paying publishing revenues due to Victory Records’ artists in blatant violation of US Copyright laws. Spotify also pulled down a very large number of albums that Victory is not the publisher for proving that their internal systems are inadequate. We asked that our catalog not be pulled, that we would amicably work with Spotify, and they haphazardly removed our content regardless. 53,000,000 streams, as per Spotify’s statements, were identified with no publishing royalties being paid by Spotify.
Late yesterday, Spotify sent over a document giving them mechanical clearance to use our music. We could not sign said document for a variety of reasons, most importantly, that it would put us in direct violation of our agreement with Audiam (www.audiam.com). Spotify knows we are in business with Audiam and were essentially asking us to breach/ignore that agreement. The issue of nonpayment for songwriters and composers is a widespread problem and not exclusive to Victory Records’ artists. We understand your frustration with not being able to listen to the music you enjoy (and most pay for via subscription).
The bottom line is that artists and songwriters are not being paid and fans of Victory’s artists cannot listen to the music.
