RAY FINKLE “HUMAN GARBAGE”
Since their inception in 2010 Ray Finkle has shared the stage with a number of prominent Perth bands and nationals acts including The Delta Riggs, who toured nationally last month.
Ray Finkle vocalist Jamie Taylor says the band’s debut single Human Garbage is a solid introduction to the sound of Ray Finkle. The song’s raw, energetic and effortless undertones showcase their unorthodox song writing approaches and freedom to express whatever the band desires. Taylor says Human Garbage is a song he wrote in his bedroom after a difficult period of his life.

COLISEUM NEW ALBUM SINGLE “COURSE CORRECTION”
Midwestern post-punk firebrands Coliseum have announced a headlining tour in support of their forthcoming album Anxiety’s Kiss (dropping on May 5th via the venerable Deathwish Inc. imprint). In conjunction with the tour announce the trio have shared a third single from the album, the bracing “Course Correction,” which bristles with an intensity that recalls the band’s hardcore roots. The song is indicative of their renown for impassioned and intense live shows; featuring whip tight, dynamic performances by guitarist/vocalist Ryan Patterson and the lockstep rhythm section of bassist Kayhan Vaziri and drummer Carter Wilson.

INSTITUTE DOWNLOAD THE FIRST TRACK “PERPETUAL EBB”
Catharsis is the new album from Austin punks Institute.
You can download the opening track “Perpetual Ebb” from the album here.
Politically speaking, not much has changed about the way Institute exists as a band since signing to Sacred Bones. Having members in Glue, Wiccans, and Back to Back, all fellow stalwarts of the Texas punk scene, helps streamline the approach for them, as all of their bands operate from the same basic ethos. In fact, singer Moses Brown has said they’re only comfortable being on Sacred Bones because he considers the label “a punk label on steroids.” (A note from the label—“Drugs, yes. Steroids, usually no.”)

MUTUAL LIVE “STAY”
As the current market of popular music continues to be dominated by Country, Rap and Pop Artists, Mutual Live has made it a goal for themselves to bring Modern Rock back to the forefront of mainstream music with a unique “county infused” twist. Although they are avid fans of grunge and post grunge music, they believe that rock has remained in the dark ages for quite sometime and is overdue for a change. With the philosophy that rock will once again become “Sexy” they have crafted both an image and a sound that is comparable to the attitude and energy of bands like Guns N Roses and Led Zeppelin.

NEW VIDEO BY TEEN MEN
The members of Teen Men didn’t start working together with the conscious goal of “making a band.” Longtime friends, Nick, Joe and Albert decided to collaborate on a quick and spontaneous one-off project involving music and video. The idea was an attempt to reawaken and become inspired after completing especially intense projects in their respective fields (a Spinto Band recording for Nick and Joe and a feature film entitled The Beast Pageant for Albert). After viewing what they created they decided to make more and invited friends to come participate. Catharine started showing up at sessions and then was assimilated into the project. After a few months, the four realized they’d created a body of work and that’s when the project was christened “Teen Men”. The term, taken from an advertisement in a 1960s Playboy, is a state of mind which anyone can imbibe in. To be a Teen Man involves taking risks, irrational self-confidence, and the search for new experiences.

SLY & THE FAMILY STONE — LIVE AT THE FILLMORE EAST OCTOBER 4 th & 5th 1968
Epic/Legacy is excited to announce the debut release of SLY & THE FAMILY STONE—LIVE AT THE FILLMORE EAST OCTOBER 4 th & 5th 1968, a four-disc set of previously unreleased live shows recorded during the band’s rise at New York City’s legendary venue. The set is scheduled to be released on Friday, July 17 and is available now for pre-order.
Sly & The Family Stone’s reputation as one of the most influential bands of the 1960s has rarely been in denial. The group effortlessly combined upbeat, funky melodies with socially conscious lyrics, which would paint a vivid picture of the sociopolitical landscape of the ‘60s while also creating a road map for pop music in the decades to come. This four-disc anthology presents a lesser-known side of the band: not the dominant soul-funk-pop juggernaut of the late 1960s, but an up-and-coming ensemble whose onstage energy could not be contained.

The Eugene O’Neill Theater Center celebrated the 15th annual Monte Cristo Award ceremony with a presentation of the honor to theater, film, and television actor Nathan Lane last night at the Edison Ballroom. The Monte Cristo Award is presented annually in recognition of the honoree’s outstanding achievements and contributions to the American theater.
“I realize I must be getting older because in the last few years, I have received a couple of Lifetime Achievement Awards. I guess this is what happens when you’ve been acting on stage this many years. But it is a little disconcerting. It’s not because I’m don’t appreciate the gesture, but as Hilary Clinton might say, ‘I’m not quite done yet.’”

“All of The Oak Ridge Boys are men of faith,” Allen says. “We were raised in four different states, but we were all brought up in homes where our parents taught us about Jesus and believing in God. All of the Oaks grew up singing in church. These songs are some of the first we learned to sing. Their messages of hope, love, assurance, faith, heaven and, basically, how to live formed the foundation of each of us.
