Rocko, Sam, Eric and John, the four members of Hero For Today, continue to attract loyal new fans show after show. They are four talented, dedicated and very hard working teenagers with big dreams and an incredibly bright future – and they’re fortunate to have the support of some the biggest names in the music business.
THE OCEAN PARTY SHARES “WADING IN” VIA STEREOGUM
The Ocean Party started hundreds of miles from the sea and possibly even further from a civilised music town. Not that Wagga Wagga (in regional New South Wales, Australia) isn’t civilised but its citizens are way more known for their sporting abilities than their musical abilities. This is probably why all the members of the band took the train to the closest city after high school and never returned. Lucky for them it was Melbourne.

His music balances a fine line between ambient drone and traditional songwriting, bending “acoustic music into strange, atmospheric directions” (Exclaim!). Inspired by humanity’s fascination with creating complex structures, systems, and beliefs that separate us from nature, and steeped in a heavy dose of Neue Deutsche Welle, Cultural Envelope is an atmospheric, introspective, and ambitious collection.

“The video is a representation of the self, alone and vulnerable in a dark void,” she said. “‘Information’ is a breakup song; it’s about not understanding the situation. With social networks these days, everyone needs to know everything, all the time. But the problem is, people are so used to short snippets of information that no one has any attention span any more. I don’t, anyway. It’s about a quest to know everything.”

NEW SINGLE BY FLOSSTRADAMUS
Today DJ / production duo Flosstradamus debut a brand new track entitled “Rebound” via Ultra Records. Josh Young has this to say about the song overall:
“Rebound is a departure from the normal maximal trap sound we pioneered. We felt that after Mosh Pit and TTU with Waka we wanted to make a song that sounded like something we listen to at the crib, or in the car on the way home from a show. Curt and I are both fans of mellow, downtempo music, and this is our nod to that world. This is an exciting step in a new, more mature direction for us.”

According to Sudie, the track comes from real life experiences, “I wrote the lyrics after graduating from Southern Methodist University, but right before I went through a break-up and right before I started figuring out how to start my career. I was extremely nervous, I was panicking every day and I did not know what the hell to do with myself.”

ANDREW JUDAH ANNOUNCES SEPTEMBER 30 RELEASE DATE FOR NEW LP
It’s safe to say that Andrew Judah’s personal life hardly resembles the lyrics of his new album, Monster. Amidst the birth of his third child, the British Columbia native managed to capture lightning in a bottle, recording one of his strongest – and darkest – studio albums to date.
The 11 tracks on Monster shift structure and theme multiple times throughout each song. Loosely inspired by Randy Newman’s early work, many of the songs are narrated by untrustworthy characters. The protagonists of Monster rival David Lynch characters for perversity, like the disturbing raconteur in “Runaway” who sings he’s “got the keys to the place you call home and while you’re sleeping you’ll never know.” Jinkies.
