WORMBURNER TO RELEASE ‘PLEASANT LIVING IN PLANNED COMMUNITIES’
Narrative indie rock luminaries from Brooklyn-via-Hoboken, Wormburner will release their third LP on September 30, 2014 via Negative Fun Records. ROYAL BLOOD’S “FIGURE IT OUT” IS THE MOST ADDED SONG THIS WEEK AT ROCK RADIO
“Figure It Out”, the second single from UK duo Royal Blood (23 year-old vocalist/bassist Mike Kerr and 25 year-old drummer Ben Thatcher) is the #1 most added song at the rock radio format this week with over 35 stations adding the record early – an impressive entrance onto the chart. Guitar World premiered the video, which was directed by Brad Linton, and inspired by themes of psychosis, loneliness, and personal transformation. The clip, which features Megafauna’s guitarist and vocalist Dani Neff trapped in a haunted factory and eventually escaping into an idyllic forest, was shot in the broken-down boiler rooms and peeling laundry facilities of Texas’s oldest psychiatric hospital. “Sometimes you have to face your fears head on in order to change,” Neff explains. Neff, known for her mind-melting shredding, co-choreographed the video, which splices modern dance movements and heavy garage riffs.

ANDREW JUDAH ANNOUNCES SEPTEMBER 30 RELEASE DATE FOR NEW LP
It’s safe to say that Andrew Judah’s personal life hardly resembles the lyrics of his new album, Monster. Amidst the birth of his third child, the British Columbia native managed to capture lightning in a bottle, recording one of his strongest – and darkest – studio albums to date.
The 11 tracks on Monster shift structure and theme multiple times throughout each song. Loosely inspired by Randy Newman’s early work, many of the songs are narrated by untrustworthy characters. The protagonists of Monster rival David Lynch characters for perversity, like the disturbing raconteur in “Runaway” who sings he’s “got the keys to the place you call home and while you’re sleeping you’ll never know.” Jinkies.
