NEW VIDEO BY 28 BOULEVARD
Combining Brit-punk grit with a distinctive pop jangle, Cambridge five-piece 28 Boulevard are set to release their latest five-track EP, Sunclouds on the 7th of April 2014. The emerging young group expand on the raw, adolescent feel of their debut double A side single, ‘This Is What/Who Are You?’, pushing their innovative spin on guitar pop to a spine-rattling, head-splitting climax.
Taking influence from the likes of Parquet Courts, Bloc Party, Yuck, Pavement and Pixies, 28 Boulevard have coined a sound that would doubtlessly sit quite comfortably in CBGB’s in ’77, but brings to the table an exciting contemporary edge.

WIRE: NEW SINGLE BY BLANCO ON COMPLEX.COM
With a ’70s funk bassline and its benjamins-centric artwork, the song “9/11” looks and sounds like it belongs on the Dead Presidents soundtrack. On the track, which Complex premiered, Bay Area rapper Blanco gives insight into his personal testimony in spitting the cold hard truth. Known for creating hardcore gangster tracks about weed and money, here he switches gears for the first single from collaborative EP One Hunnid featuring YG, The Jacka, andMessy Marv, produced by Tha Bizness. The track has a nostalgic, funky tranquil feel yet captures the speculative tone set by the lyrics. Blanco, YG, The Jacka, and Messy Marv allege material objects as being the main focus of others, the sentimental plea for justice and rejection of a corrupt system causes them to exclaim, “Pardon me while I burst and rise above these flames / had enough of this earth…just give us what we deserve.” By addressing a corrupt society, Blanco draws a parallel between his mentality and the devastating event that occurred over a decade ago. Though representing the West Coast, he gleams a bright light on issues surrounding one of New York’s most horrific events, giving insight on corruptions that continue to effect everyone. The track fades out with a soundbite of former President Bush’s post 9/11 speech, which brings it home.

Produced and recorded in Seattle with Dylan Wall, Nausea is reflective of the artistic and personal growth Vallesteros experienced on his “hiatus”. This is not the same Crafts Spells of 2010, but a logical progression for a musician finding his voice, with bolder sentiments and a more mature sound.

“This album is very special to us as a band; we put a lot of time and effort into it. We spent two years locked in a rehearsal room playing the parts over and over again until they were perfect. Inside we knew that it would be the album that finally put us on the map or it would be our Swan song. Either way we wanted to put it all on the table and not hold back. We said everything we wanted to say and played every note and fill like it would be our last. To us it is as close to perfect as we could get it, I hope that others enjoy it as much as we do.”

ALICE BOMAN “WAITING VIDEO”
Hailing from Malmö, Sweden, the singer/songwriter first appeared when she released 2013’s Skisser via Adrian Recordings in Europe. Swedish for “sketches,” Skisser was just that – delicate home recordings from her bedroom Boman gracefully unleashed to the world, that were never meant to fall on any other ears but her own.
Swedish label, Adrian Recordings were wrapping up after a busy summer and had no intention of doing an additional release, heard Skisser and claimed that time itself stopped, and decided to issue the EP on vinyl. The response was overwhelming, with whispers of her craft on The Line of Best Fit and The Wild Honey Pie, eventually growing so loud, that praise from the likes of Interview Magazine and The Guardian naturally followed.
